In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 1995 Ford Taurus. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

It's a good place to hang an air freshener on your face mask we wore during the pandemic. Especially in a state where they don't like you to hang things from the mirror to block your view. I drive a Honda Element which has its which actually has its floor style shifter coming out of the dash similar to some vans. So I will just hang my mask there. We don't have laws against paying things in the mirror where I live but I just don't like to do that.

I bought a 1995 taurus like this one back in 2015, it only had 93k miles on it, everything on it was new and it worked, the ac would be blowing freaking cold just seconds after you turn it on, you could do 85mph on the freeway and it would drive really smooth. Man I should have never sold it

For those of us who will not compromise, Ford listened. They created Taurus, for us.
@houseofno
@houseofno 3 жыл бұрын
If you think the original Ford Taurus lacked compromises, you're not looking hard enough. Still, giving credit where credit is due, this is the car that saved Ford in the eighties. When this car was being developed, Ford was hemorrhaging a billion dollars a day. Even today, that was a lot of money then, and a lot of money now too.

Funny story. When I was 8, my uncle rented a 1995 Taurus. One of the first things I noticed was it had an electric driver's seat. I had seen the movie "Planes Trains & Automobiles", where John Candy breaks a car seat, and says that it's impossible to break them. I wanted to see if it really would happen, so I kept moving the seat back and forth until it finally quit working. Man, was my uncle PISSED!

My mom had the same engine in her Windstar, with the same transmission. They were pieces of crap, the intake manifold actually melted a hole, the transmission went and only a year after it was rebuilt it went again, and you'd have to try at least 4 times to get it started in the winter.

My parents used to have one of these, we actually got it up past 85 miles per hour (or 136 kilometres per hour) a few times... I know this because my Dad once got stopped by the cops for going 145 kph (90 mph). Of course, a the car was ready to fall apart at that speed, but it could get there no problemo.

95 was the first year all trim lines of the Taurus came with a million mile odometer. I noticed it has ABS, 4 wheel disc brakes. Good basic transport for someone. They just gota fix the door dinger issue and they'll be ready to go. Surprising to see LX/SE multi spoke alloys on it. Those 3.8s, when running right, are some torquey engines.

I noticed my temp gauge will sometimes not go to the middle even after the cars been running for an hour and still stay closer to cold. But then other times it will run slightly hot like 2/3 of the way to fully hot/overheating and the cars only been on for 15 minutes. This usually happens with slower driving or idling. Is this normal for these cars?

The top speed isn't 85 lol. This car was designed back when the maximum speed limit in the US was 55, as you can tell by how 55 is marked on the speedometer. Ford and GM alike decided that on some of their cars, they didn't have to have a 120 or 140 mph speedometer for that reason.

1996 -2007 was actually the worst models ford admitted that they cut corners on these models in quality. Their transmissions during this time peroid were horrible with many breakdowns due shotty build quality and you were lucky to get 60,000 miles on it before the transmission started slipping. Many people also companied on the 96-99 models of the dashboard coming apart due to cheap glue fittings around the drivers gages that and the cheap plastic inside in both models made it look like a rental

exactly. best you can buy in some segments though they have produced vehicles that were and are junk. like small cars and minivans from ford, a lot were junk. however, their bigger cars,full size vans, many SUVs and especially trucks from ford are the best you can buy and are extremely well built.lots of best in class stuff for the f-series! which is my favorite vehicle...but no matter what vehicle you take, there will be lemons to exeptional quality ones.fluctuates with days of the week alot...

Despite the age, the vehicle has good condition. There is no rust. In Russia ford taurus was not so populal like in America, because it was not officialy sold. In 1990s years pepople not officially imported this model in Russia, an main problem was - "where to find genuine parts". Nowadays situation is better - there are a lot of companies that deliver parts for american cars, that were not officially sold in Russia. . Also there is fan club in Russia taurus-club.ru

First of all, I wasn't the one maintaining it. Secondly, it wasn't even a maintenance issue to begin with. ALL Essex engines are well-known for their defective head gaskets and are prone to premature failure. I'll bet the car in this video had them replaced as part of the recall.

Those older Taurus's are nice cars if you can maintain them. If you beat on it, it'll turn into a pile of shit really fast. Trust me. My first car was a '95. Had the 3.0L Vulcan. Fired up every time, but it was a rustbucket. My second car is a '94 Taurus with the 3.8L Essex. It's got great power, although you need to keep up with maintenance on them

@97I30T We had COUNTLESS problems. 1, passenger door broke. 2, blew 3 heater hoses within two and a half years. 3, bad left rear strut. 4, no muffler. 5, bad ignition switch. 6, power driver seat broke all the way forward. 7, broken... Sorry, I know it's boring. To the point, that car was done in at 130,*** last year when my mom slid into a guardrail at the end of a steep hill.

Don't think that is a 95. 95's had clear headlight lens and no chrome around the door trim. Good car for basic transportation

Well you probably treated it like shit. Tauruses don't hold up all that well and their transmissions are garbage but with the proper care they will run fine. On top of that they're not even expensive to maintain/repair. This car in the video is proof they can go for a long time.

My parents' 3.8L Taurus died at 96,000 kilometres, or about 61,000 miles. What a completely hopeless piece of shit.

and the cars you talk about arefrom the far past, basically the same as 50's cars not very efficient for today. and for $850 for a runing mint driving mint looks great example (taurus) great value for money

wow. that car is not too bad. I am surprised that the chime is constantly sounding even when the key isn't in there and the lights are not on. Good old Ford. Now you have a more annoying chime inside the ford.

@orbitofdoom16 no dude the 3.8 ford was a piece of shit, lots of problems. the gm and chrysler were the reliable ones. chrysler v6's are very reliable except the piece of shit 2.7 and the 3.7 arent that great.

Why was it dinging at the beginning when the key wasn't even in the ignition? We used to have a Windstar that would do that. It made me never want to hear that Ford dinger again because it would never shut up lol
