Now THIS is what a Jaguar should be. Gorgeous automobile! This one is perfect as a daily and l wouldn't be too afraid of getting a scratch or two. Need to tell myself that I'm NOT only three hours north of you in NE., Bob. lol

You found a 1995 Jaguar with working cup holders and a non sagging headliner. That alone is impressive.

11:07 Throttle shaft bushings missing. Very common on these. Replace with oiled sintered bronze flange bushings. Also radiator mount bushings need replacement.

Hi Bob nice car, a real car!!!😃 The xj12 is quite a common car here in the UK. My Dad has had two I myself have only ever had the xj8'r. That particular model I think was slightly influienced by ford which meant it had decent electrics and not any Lucus crap which ruined so many jags before this one. They really are very well engineered cars and very mechically reliable and very powerful. And with this one it looks like you've acquired a really nice tidy example. Fair play to you Bob 👍

For the 94' to 97' model years, less than 50 in the UK now, and less than 10 are taxed. You might be thinking of the Series 3 XJ12.

That's a really early one Bob for the X305 range. Mine was made end of September 94' and was one of the first 50 right hand drive XJ12's made. They only made 500 odd Short Wheel base models worldwide so I'd suspect a LHD XJ12 in the US is one of less than 200. Great car.I bet probably less than 50 roadworthy examples now. See you've sold it already. What was it up for?

Looks like a LWB. Less than 600 made under the Jaguar brand name.A bit more as a Daimler DD6. Amaing cars. I do have a Turquose 6cyl Supercharged (XJR) as a daily for almost five years by now. Btw. the issue with the clock is a known one in those. Cable for the dispaly goes bad. Replacement is available (At least from UK, dont know about US) and is fairly easy to replace. Done a few. Can send you further details if interested.

That cable can be had at a Jag dealer in Canada so chances are it's available at a US dealer.

It's a SWB version. One of the very early ones. No glovebox also which is typical of very early X305's.
@ingvargissurarson46712 жыл бұрын
@@judgementalTX ok. Was not sure. Hard to see on the video. My XJR is a early one also, unfortunatelly with no glove box.

@@ingvargissurarson4671 . It's funny as mine was built late September 94 and has one but still has the seat pockets at the front.

@@judgementalTX might have been fitted later. I dont remember excactly when it changed. Probably late 95 early 96. Mine is august 94.

Bob - you didn't mention this is a long wheelbase model. The lwb XJ is 5149 mm / 202.7 in long versus the swb XJ at 5023 mm / 197.7 in measure. All that space is in the back seat.
@944play2 жыл бұрын
All 1995 North America Specification X305s are SHORT wheelbase, including this one; mine is too. All 1996 NAS X305s are LWB.

In Europe, the model was called the Daimler (V12) Double-Six and there was a special D as the trademark. Jaguar was not allowed to use the Daimler name in the US. Daimler Sovereign, Wikipedia. Tell CarW

Interesting point to note is that the British and European versions never had the leaping cat on the hood due to the risk of injuring pedestrians....real shame.
@skelejp9982 Жыл бұрын
That is not true. Later versions had an ornament, that would move sideways, when hit. Jaguar made them till 2005, also in the UK, and stopped, because of new laws. images.honestjohn.co.uk/imagecache/file/crop/1200x800/images/owners-reviews/6865.jpg

That cat statue on the front would do to a pedestrian in an accident what a real jaguar would do to any unsuspecting Amazon jungle explorer: eviscerate them from chin to crotch. But it looks fantastic so who cares.
