This channel is sort of like an online "mini-museum" for all sorts of vehicles, and I appreciate that you review cars like this that you don't see much of anymore, and preserve them in video form here on KZbin! I imagine that many people had memories growing up as children in the 90s spending their time-outs in vehicles like this when they were being naughty.

I totally agree! I love seeing cars that were so popular from years past and just more regular type of vehicles!

The fact that it's nearly 30 years old and still on the road is amazing.

Not really. This era of Chrysler was bulletproof. Lee Iacocca left Chrysler in the best position it has ever been in.

This was my last van. A 94. Loved it. Had it many years before it died with 330,000+ miles. $1000 bucks. Took out the rear row seats. And used it as a truck. Plywood etc. That was 2012-2016 or 17. ❤💜💙🧡🤑😎

Bro... back in the day when these vans were new and not clapped out, I use to could tell when one pulls up or pull off. I hear that loud buzzing sound from the transmission when the van comes to a stop or shifts from park. That 3.0L Mitsubishi V6 exhaust had a deep heavy tone just like the exhaust from the Mitsubishi 3000GT.

Hands down, one of my all-time favorite cars ever made this, and the 1st-gen K-car call me weird but I miss my 94 400k+ Voyager example.

Evening Zach, a friend took 6 of us on a road trip from Toronto to Florida in his brand new 89 Voyager 2.5L turbo. Tons of room for 3 guys, 4 girls and luggage. With the turbo I4, the van moved very nicely and cost us almost nothing in gas. He had added both a trans and turbo oil cooler and didn't have a problem with either in the 10 years he had the van. Thanks for the trip back to my high school years, great videos. Cheers.

I love it. I’m a 70 year-old guy who just watched the review of the ID buzz on the straight pipes channel that thing cost $80,000.!!! Don’t make plain vehicles like this anymore. Everything is a luxury vehicle with a price to match.

This was the 1991-1995 generation. The Chrysler minivan first came out 40 years ago in 1984. My family had a 1986 Dodge Caravan

Nice to see one of these still rolling around and still in alright shape. I love how simple the gauges and controls are. As an aside, I love how the speedometer only goes to 100. Modern cars go to 160 so only half of the speedometer actually gets used. No one's racing a Kia Forte or Chevy Equinox so there's no reason for the speedometer to go so high, especially when there's a speed limiter.

A Plymouth Voyager of this generation will always have a special place in my heart...AND MY EARS!!!! When I was a young lad back in 1992, I would sometimes ride to and from LCDC in Boston in a 1992 Plymouth Voyager school van from Accept Transportation that was white with red interior...And beg my drivers to fasten the seatbelts before starting the engine and not open the door with the key in the ignition, so I would NOT have to hear that horrific MOPAR buzzer that was exclusive to models with red interior.
@karoltakisobie6638Ай бұрын
Huge bonus of this van was amount of space you got once benches were removed. I remember a lot of those used for moving/ shipping stuff and unlike other vans this one was still nimble and easy to park anywhere. Even Canada Post and Purolator used many of them for years. I'm sure some are still being used as work vans
@1986UnlimitedАй бұрын
I really love how you review cars I grew up with and talk about the vehicle's place in history. I'm 37 now but I remember the 1st gen Caravans and also when wagons were still in. It's nostalgic.

I'm now in my '95 Voyager 3.3 - original o/d 41TE transmission. The fluid should be changed every other year, or at least every 60,000 miles - and ATF+4 fluid. The transmission is simpler than others at the time - lacking clutch bands.

The last time I saw one of these, the owner was my neighbor and she got into drug use... that poor van ended up having the back glass smashed out one night when she decided to stick a flag on a pole out the back.

One of the big issues on these vans, was the lack of head restraints in those rear seats. I was in the back of this generation of Caravan, got lightly rear ended and my neck went back, and it hurt. As you can see, typical headliner missing, Chrysler thing then lol. But they were decent vans.
@davinpАй бұрын
Chrysler resurrected the Voyager nameplate. It is meant to be the cheaper version of the Chrysler Pacifica minivan

1:13 as a Chrysler Conquest owner I can elaborate a little. Before the Eclipse was created in Normal IL, the Mitsubishi Starion was built from 1983-1990 in the Okazaki factory. I call it the "Pre "Eclipse"" but most deem it the predecessor to the GTO/3000GT RWD, based on the Galant Sigma, powered by essentially a turbocharged tractor motor G54B. Mostly based on the Plymouth Sapporro from the late 70s.

I bought a used 1987 Plymouth Voyager in 1992, why ?....because when i took a ride in it from the dealer...it was a goodlooking (classic silver over dark grey with some striping trim on it) and the Voyager had the better looking front end grille on it too compared to the Dodge. It rode very comfortably and the utilitarian value was off the charts. Seats in, seats out, cargo, shopping, back lift hatch, sliding side entry doors. It was unbelievably sensible for my needs and having said that....there is no wonder why they sold so damn many. It was a home run hit out of the park that some people didnt know they needed until they got in one. I miss it now as i crashed it into a concrete coated pole at the entry of a antifreezed soaked driveway that lead to a recycling plant and auto slavage/scrap yard. I slipped upon the turn in and essentially the damage made repair too $$$ to fix. Sold it as is to a friend who wanted all my interior parts and anything they could use off the drivetrain. I enjoyed 6 years with it though. And if i ever see one like it....id probally buy it. At this point its nostalgic to me and really anyone who would see it considering it be almost 40 years old now. 😊

Friends family still has theirs. It's a bottom of the barrel Voyager with: cloth, AC,cruise,4cylinder-5peed,and full instruments and the big gas tank. Freaking thing would get insane MPG. Most whachy thing about driving it beyond being turd slow and gear ratios so wide is the shift linkage; life having a bat attached to spaghetti noodles.
