I like your car, nice job. I am in the middle of installing an aluminum 4.6 four cam with a Vortec and T45 from a 97 Cobra with only 30k orig. miles in a 89 Super coupe. I used the aluminum MkVIII Rear suspension parts in mine with the with Cobra Rotors , brakes & wheels. Put Brembo on the front. Sure would like to see a longer video with you putting the pedal down in your car.
@ngrybrd-jt6cp5 жыл бұрын
Sounds like an awesome build! The t45 has been good to me so far and is taking some abuse. Hopefully soon I’ll be making a better video with some rolling shots hopefully!
@brucegambill63035 жыл бұрын
@@ngrybrd-jt6cp That would be great. What did you use for your clutch, slave cyl. or cable? Also your shift linkage location , did you extend your linkage back to suit the body? That is good to know about the T45, I have heard pro's and cons. But then again, many of those have clearly received their shift training from Grind em till ya find em. How does your car like high speed? When they raced these cars, they always did so well in the wind tunnel. A bit wider, a bit longer , lower and the windshield practically laid down, I always felt anything above 140mph, they were planted better and more stable than the Mustangs.

Bruce Gambill car loves to go fast! It likes to cruise at 80 with light throttle pressure lol. I haven’t gone past 130 yet. I used an 11 inch clutch from a cobra I’m looking to upgrade to a stage 2 spec clutch soon with the 31 spline input shaft I believe it may be 32 spline. I used an s10 slave like others did on tccoa but eBay sells a kit that bolts in where the clutch fork shield goes. I did end up extending the shift linkage to put it in the center of the counsel.
@brucegambill63035 жыл бұрын
@@ngrybrd-jt6cp Yes, I have read that the S10 Slave is the way to go. The SC I 'm using was a 5sp car , so easy enough. Cars like these are not on every street corner, so when ever I can get a chance to see and hear about the decisions others have made when facing some of the same issues when converting the cars for motors, clutches, linkages, electrical, brakes, half shafts, that sort of thing. I have an old Black 85 Ford LTD that likes to cruise at 80mph and above. I put it together years ago with the remains of my exwifes MK VII LSC Coupe. So the Fox body LTD received the Lincoln, s K member, 15-1 steering rack( same as a Cobra) the 8.8 rear end, four air bags, you can pick your desired ride height both front and rear, 5 lug 4 wheel ABS Disc, the metric 4sp auto, the roller 302 Ho, with ported Gt 40 heads, better springs and roller Rockers, 10.5-1 compression, comp cam, port matched exhaust to headers, ported upper and lower Gt 40 intake, MSD, 70MM TB and 24lb injectors. And a large Blue Bottle in the trunk. The car is prertty funny, I mean everybody's Gramma & Grampa had one of these 4 dr. 4cyl.-v6 mid size grocery getters. It has a certified 140 mph speedo. It handles the speed well too. It'll run up to 135-140mph in drive and then finish it on up in overdrive. The LSC has factory frame connectors that bolt right to the floor pan & lower control arm mounting boxes of the LTD, so it was pretty economical build that covers several areas of the vehicle. I'm looking forward to the SC, the 4cam aluminum Mod motor, the Vortec forced induction, ( that is what was on it when I bought it)a clutch pedal and 4 wheel indep. sus. Show us some more of your car, parked and pushing wind. That would be good, it deserves the screen time.
