I like Boomer's Marv Albert impersonation whenever he does a Kareem Abdul-Jabbar highlight against the Jets.

That Morten Andersen miss is such a butterfly effect moment. If he makes that kick, does Denver win the super bowl? Does Favre ever win one? Does Parcells stay in New England longer?
@manuginobilisbaldspot4243 жыл бұрын
Denver almost certainly makes the SB. But I think Green Bay wins either way.
@justi1393 жыл бұрын
Green Bay would’ve destroyed the Broncos in the super bowl that year.
@lisgod32 жыл бұрын
Parcells win lose or draw was out the door. He hated NEs management and how he had no control/limited control of personnel. Not even a decisive win would have stopped his exit.

Dave Kreigs hands must be as strong as vicegrips to be that small and not only grip the ball but toss it 60 yards.
@gluserty3 жыл бұрын
In an NFL Films piece, Krieg said that tales of his small hands were overblown, and that many of his fumbles were due to him being hit. I actually do think his hands were a little small (I also thought Daunte Culpepper had small hands).

The Chiefs being eliminated was also just the second time in Marty Schottenheimer's 12 full seasons as a head coach up to then (not counting when he was the interim Browns head coach in 1984) that one of his teams missed the playoffs.
@gluserty3 жыл бұрын
Well, Rich Brooks may've been fired by the Rams here, but he did interim coaching for the 1998 Falcons when Dan Reeves had his bypass surgery, and won some bowls games for U of Kentucky football (I'd say that's a nice feat). The Rams did hire Dick Vermeil, and down the road things really came together for the franchise. I enjoyed Peter Coyote's narration in that Acura CL commercial (I always like word from the Coyote); football fans might remember he narrated the "Full-Color Football: The History of the American Football League" series, which I feel is a must-watch (it's on KZbin!). The 1996 Jets would either play dead and get routed or show some life but find a way to blow the game ( at least they made the Dolphins work for both their wins against them). Overall a disorganized mess. Rich Kotite seems like a decent man, but I don't know what happened to him as a coach. I think Brett Favre had a shot at getting closer to Dan Marino's touchdown record, but at midseason the Packer wideouts were all banged up and the offense bogged down a bit. For sure, the Ravens were a lot of fun to watch for a 4-12 team. Later Ravens teams have been more successful but not as explosive offensively (at least until the current Lamar Jackson era). The Jaguars made the playoffs due to an excellent run at the end of the season but Morten Andersen let them off the hook there (I'm pleased that this particular Falcons team, which played poorly all year, gave such a committed effort. Also, it was Bobby Hebert's final game as a pro). But once in, the Jaguars sure got rowdy!

Imagine 84 Marino with todays rules? He Would've had 6,000 yards and 60 plus tds! When a QB or WR sets some record now it doesn't ever count in my mind and should have a * next to it.
@gluserty3 жыл бұрын
@@CoreyT127 It really puts the '84 numbers accumulated by Marino in perspective; a season ahead of its time.
@CoreyT1273 жыл бұрын
@@gluserty it really does considering today's league they pass 50 plus times per game and you can't hit QB's or WR's. Steve Spurrier could've been Drew Brees had he been born a generation later.

Speaking of Dan Reeves I still don't understand how he's not in the hof. But Marv Levy is? They were both 0-4 in SB. But Reeves took 2 different teams to the SB!

Mercifully the last Buccaneers game with that lame logo and ugly uniforms. Also the Bengals avoid a losing season for the only time between 1991 and 2002.
