@Tylerjackson1065 Get a later C4 with high mileage and a straight body. That's what I did 4 weeks ago. It was cheap. You can have so much fun. If you don't buy one, you'll kick yourself in the butt 10 or 20 years from now. These cars need to be saved. You can have a fun project car. Put $5k into it a year, if in a budget, and before you know it, the car will be your dream car and worth tons of cash. Look at the price of the C2 Corvettes.... Out of reach for guys in their 60s and 70s that could have bought one 20 years ago... Super expensive. They get parted out so fast over time. Trust me. Get it before you regret it. These cars were ahead of their time. Amazing design and engineering. Nice short wheelbase, gives you a feeling that the newer cars cannot! Trust me.

I bought a new 1994 LT1 automatic. My first pass at the drag strip was 14.05. I continued to bracket race it twice a week for the next two years. During the first six months it got faster and faster; eventually getting down to 13.02 @ 109.50! 1.80 sixty foots were the norm. It was completely bone stock with 2.76 gears and the factory Goodyear tires. Nobody at The Brotherhood Raceway on Terminal Island in Los Angeles could believe how it ran. It was a remarkable car! Wish I still had it. By the way.....I had 870 time slips!!

IMHO, the biggest (and senseless) mistake Corvette owners make is comparing their car's performance to the newer models. I own a '91 ZR1 and it'll still throw down with many modern muscle cars, but will get smoked by most newer Vettes. However, I didn't buy it to go out and street race other cars. I bought it because I'm a classic car enthusiast and the ZR1s are very rare nowadays. Even though it turns heads everywhere, the most attention it gets is at car shows because most people have never seen one or know anything about them. Now to your LT-4.....please, absolutely whatever you do, KEEP IT!! Not only are C4s rightfully going back up in value, the '96 LT-4s are gems. That engine was one of the most badass, true small-block Chevys ever built and since it was the last year of the C4, they will skyrocket in value within the next decade.

I bought this car in March 30th of this year for $15,000. It had brand new rear tires, and 10 year old front tires. I bought front tires to match the rear tires. The front is lowered on a VBP lowering spring, so I lowered the rear to match with vansteel bolts. As of today it is at the local chevy dealer getting 4 new Bilstein B8 shocks, front inner and outer tie rods, upper and lower ball joints, rear outer tie rods, both rear wheel bearing/hub assemblies, and finally a 4 wheel alignment. After all that I will have a tick over 20k into the car. I'm a bit deep into it, and I don't think I can get that back out, but it's a really clean no option 63k mile car. The plan is to keep enjoying it. I actually sold my scat pack challenger to move back into a C4, there's a video on my channel highlighting that. Feel free to subscribe for more LT4 stuff to come!

5.7 sounds slow for 0-60 but was there any traction issues? You mentioned it was misting? Plus that annoying skip shift can make shifting quickly a pain. I think my biggest reservation on the C4 is ingress and egress is pretty challenging. I am over 50 but still slim and rather limber.
@C5Zthings7 ай бұрын
Skip shift shouldn’t affect a pull since it disables after you pass a certain rpm

@bobthbldr37 ай бұрын
It sounded like it bogged a little on the launch so maybe a little higher rpm (maybe 2800) would help the 60 ft time. Then you had to shift to second before 60 mph so that hurts quite a bit also. If you would power shift to second and third gear it wouldn't be that much of a strain on the drivetrain in the lower gears and should help the et in the quarter mile. Then in the higher gears you could lift when you shift and it probably wouldn't make hardly any difference in the time since by then you have momentum going for you. Remember the trap speed at end of the quarter is the indicator of how much power you are making. Nice car though and I wouldn't make too many modifications and keep it as original as possible or make it easy to change it back.
