There’s some companies on the East Coast that already have them imported and for sale. I usually see them going for around 7-10k. Pretty reasonable.

I don't understand why the bed is so shallow. The K-car qualification wouldn't have changed at all if they raised the bed walls up a bit and made it more useful.

This little truck is so cute! I've liked them ever since I raced one in Gran Turismo 2 for Playstation. In its stock form in the game, it is basically a joke for racing. It's the lowest power vehicle in the game.

What engine did this use because if its the f6a like almost all kei cars you can easily get a supercharger or turbo and install it easily.

It's not an FA6 like you see in cars like the AZ-1, Alto Works, or the Cappucino which are the more notorious ones. It is a Daihatsu EF-CK which is a carburated EF. An engine swap with a turbocharged Mira would be sweet, but just making the EF-CK breath better with a cold air intake, less restrictive exhaust, and maybe some changes to the carburetor jetting and some timing changes. I have a Midget II B model I am thinking about tossing a turbo on when I upgrade the turbo on my Alto Works but want to make sure I have everything just right and don't run it so lean it melts the pistons. I wish there was a larger group of enthusiasts here in the U.S. so parts and information would be easier to come by.

I would LOVE to buy on just the looks alone...BUT...I don't know how they would handle being on snowy Icey roads...to bad, they didn't make a 4wd model P.S. I plan on moving to a small town in So. Dakota...If I decide to buy one from you, can you ship it there?

Sounds like you really want a 4WD Daihatsu Hijet. They're awesome. Tiny, but not quite as tiny as the Midget. Serious pickup truck usage, though. It carries as much as my Tacoma did, and a lot more after the Tacoma frame rusted due to the Toyota manufacturer's defect so I had to use it as a two seat car instead of a truck.

AM radio and one speaker is standard for a kei truck. At least the Midget has a decent sized speaker. Many of the AM radios have a one inch speaker on the front of the radio. I'm yanking the AM radio and cubby hole out of my Daihatsu Hijet and I'm installing a double DIN ATOTO Android radio and backup camera with four speakers on the corners of the cab roof.
