Good job! Changing those two belts is a royal pain in the gizzard 4 sure!!! I've been a Ranger fan for almost 30 years! I just bought a super clean 1998 Ranger work truck with the 2.5 L. 4 cyl. motor. The first owner babied it, and kept it under a carport so the paint is like new, except on the roof of the cab, where the paint didn't bond to the primer paint, and it separated. But the paint everywhere else is near perfect!!! I'm going to replace the timing belt and serpentine belt and possibly the water pump, unless I find out that the last owner's done it recently. Idk if anyone will see this, but I was under the impression the harmonic balancer had to be removed. Is that not the case?

If you have power steering, make sure you take the pump off before you take the bracket off. It's hell to get a bolt back in the bracket, and even worse to try and hold the bracket in place enough to try and break the bolts loose on the power steering pump

How did you keep it aligned after you released the tensioner?, because I'm having nothing but trouble with mine. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

That's a serpentine belt not a timing belt

The serpentine belt gets removed before you can get to the timing belt. Unfortunately I lost the footage of the actual timing belt being changed out in this video. But it shows the whole process of getting to the timing belt and putting it all back together.
