I was there. It was I beautiful sunny day. We went out to camping in the parking lot. The tickets gave everybody permission to go around freely in all the grandstands of the track. I visited all of them Saturday before the race. We could even climb on the first floor of the boxes and watch all the action. It was very hot and there were shower rooms of VERY cold water for the public in the center of the parking lot. I remember other three interesting things: a) The umbrella girl beside Barros was in a sort of swimsuit and was the star of the grid before the start. Many photographers gave her all the attention she deserved! b) Max Biaggi was leading the 250 race confortably and I think he tought it was boring. He then, half the race past, made a wheelie from the beginning to the end of the main straight (cold blood or too hot blood?). c) At the end of the 250 race, Biaggi throw his helmet to the public and the guy that was in front of me took it. I touched it with my fingers (lol). It was my best experience ever in a race circuit! I have many photographs and one day, I will put them online and tell you here when that happens. Thank you for posting.

Jean-Michel Bayle was an incredible motocross and had he stayed on the dirt could have been the best motocross rider of the 90s. But he took a risk to move to the hard top and sadly it didn't pay off. Maybe it was the demise of the prestige of the 500cc mx world championship and winning the triple in the AMA, perhaps too early, he felt he needed to move on. He will won't die wondering.

25 years later, his son Jack won the race in F3 on the same track.

It wasn't a great move, Criville oubraked himself after coming under pressure! Great race, great duel, great upload but oooo the commentary is weak sometimes, a good ex rider in comms is SO important

Thankfully, he didn't suffer the same fate as Marco Simoncelli did at Malaysia in 2011.
