Seriously mine was clogged terrible.did full tune-up and replaced egr tube with high pressure/heat hose cuz found prev owner rigged it with cheap hose and it blew and it would run great then choke up randomly. Did filter last which turned out to have bunch of sediment in it and it runs great now

wheeee, lucky the maf did not slip/flip over/down into the serpentine belt. :-) Ever since acquisition of my 96 sierra K1500, and subsequent chk with a scanreader have seen a flashing egr red oval within the header menu, also at some idle moments out on the road. The engine chk light starts flashing till I get rollin' again. Cleaned the egr valve real well, and recently spotted that the previous owner had detached & capped the firewall end of the egr tube, so prepping to detach/ clean it also (with carb'cleaner) vs directly swapping out with a pricey new tube.

If u can pay attention to the gas tank. they make these cars with ridiculously big tanks. Which can be a good and bad thing. Good becuz u dont have to refill every 3 days. Bad if u are a speed demon. God forbid u have a accident with kids inside. But my truck has a approx 27 gallon tank. Cost me like 100 bucks to fill. But i don't refill for 2 weeks..

Intake manifold went bad. Big job. Took like 6 hrs to fix. After that ,it drove strong. No more air and coolant mixing.

I just did the new cap, rotor, plugs and wires on my 2006 4.3. It was never done till today. 127,000 miles. Ran ok before, but bad gas mileage and hesitation... Now it runs like crap. Checked my wires, checked gap on plugs before putting them in, all NAPA stuff. Don't know what went wrong.

If the car Battery was unplugged for a long time your computer is probably resetting.. It takes about a week of driving for it to normalize.. Now if the car Battery was not unplugged then you probably Have to reset your computer..Scotty Kilmer has a video on how to do it Correctly.. And why it needs to be done.. To know that you are looking at the correct video, he unplugs the battery Terminals and after a few minutes he touches the terminal wires together etc etc.. Most cars go through this when when they've been modified or fixed to compensate for fuel gains or losses..

Hey I’ve had some similar issues, recently changed my MAP Sensor and egr valve, but I still feel a bit of shakiness when driving and accelerating at certain rpms and mph. Recently changed my alternator for a better one because I’ve also been experiencing loss of power when coming to a stop you know what it could be??

If its tbi those are notorious for going bad it can be a number of different issues

Arpox $600 in parts Mass air flow sensor 160 Tps sensor 60 Egr valve 150 Spark plugs 30 Air filter 20 Oil 50 Oil filter 10 Radiator flush about 120 Basicly a tune up plus sensor. When I did the in intake manifold gasket that was 50 in parts and the labor from a friend was 250..
