I don't have that problem. I need to know how it works because I'm swapping engine on my 1998 GMC Yukon 4x4.

I have a 94 Chevy K1500 4x4, it looks the same. I will be replacing the gasket & o-ring too because it starts leaking. I also have oil mostly floating (not much) on the top of the radiator & reservoir. I've been watching youtube & they said it's the leak from the "engine oil cooler" (not the blown head gasket). Where is the "engine oil cooler" & what does it look like? Is it the same thing as the "oil cooler adapter"? When I search online for "engine oil cooler for 94 Chevy K1500", it shows like "a mini radiator"? Is it the right one? Please Help. By the way, I'm a woman & have very little knowledge & experience in auto repair but start learning from KZbin.

The cooler would be attached with some lines to the assembly that you remove in the video. My truck did not come with the cooler, so i dont have any knowledge to where it runs to. After market oil cooler kits do look like a little radiator mounted somewhere in front, but are not attached the cooling system. If the OEM cooler is like the transmission cooler lines, then they would run into the radiator, which could be the reason you see oil if its internally cracked. BUT i do not know how the OEM cooling system is ran. If your truck does have the lines to this assembly, you can follow them and see where they go.
@hyr0llr2 жыл бұрын
So yeah i just looked it up and the cooler lines do go into the radiator. So possibly a bad radiator internally, that would need to be replaced. Keep an eye on your oil also, you wouldnt want coolant to run into your oiling system.

Doest oil come out of the unit if the lines are not hooked up.
@hyr0llr4 жыл бұрын
i dint have lines on mine. let me look online an see one with the lines attached.
@hyr0llr4 жыл бұрын
so if i understand correct your 91 motor doesnt have coolant lines and the 95 motor does. and so you want to put the 91 adapter(without lines) onto the 95 motor. am i correct?
@kevinferrell70334 жыл бұрын
@@hyr0llr Yes you are correct. Or can i remove the fitting on the 95 and run it like that or will it leak oil...
@hyr0llr4 жыл бұрын
@@kevinferrell7033 thats something you would have to compare the adpter plates. because the one with hoses, you probably cant plug if thats where the oil needs to go. so i would take both adapters off, and if the motor passages are the same then you can put the 91 adpater in. and worst case scenario get a hose to run from one of the hose connection to the other hose connection.

Will the center thread thing change out from a 1991 c 1500 350 to a 1995 k 1500 350. Im putting the 95 k 1500 motor in my 1991 c 1500. I dont need the oil cooler set up . Would rather use the 91 set up. Will it innerchange?
@hyr0llr4 жыл бұрын
i honestly couldnt tell you. this one didnt have attachments for an oil cooler, so if you didnt have it before, i dont see why you would need to add it. i would take em both out and compare before swapping it.

Mine has the two cooler lines attached. Any suggestions on how to deal with those during this? Anyone know if they just pop out and drain any coolant or not?
@hyr0llr4 жыл бұрын
i would do at fhe time of a oil change so your not losing fluid.
