This was a funnfix and I love these types of jobs sometimes because wiring can be so simple or it can be the reason you stop working on cars all together. Luckily we got this one in tip top shape and working like it did from factory!

That plug he unplugged , the coolant temp sensor, is probably unplugged or the sensor is probably bad.
