And this is where they all went wrong……they bad talked Sonny instead of giving Jason a chance to see for himself……I like how he stood his ground…….they all saw the bad Sonny…….Jason would see the real Sonny and he still continued to be his friend.

The sad thing was that the accident did leave Jason Impaired. Because of his memory loss, he did not have a lifetime of training and indoctrination in what was right and wrong according to society.He did not automatically know the right thing to do like other people do. Even when they disagree, they usually know what is expected of them. He lost the ability to distinguish the nuances of right and wrong. He was basically a good soul who got caught up in a way of life he did not understand until it was too late. Even in his personal relationships, he did not understand. Like having a causal fling with Carly while being involved with Robin. He did not understand the subtle distinction between being committed and a casual relationship. That took some time.

@@beegee1960 he wasn’t caught up, he was brought in. By Sonny and unfortunately, and somewhat accidentally by Robin. Sonny knew Jason Q., he knew about the accident, he knew about the medical condition. In each step, as Jason got deeper into the business Sonny could’ve stopped it but he didn’t because it benefited him.

@@7srchoed Sonny did not go after Jason, though. Jason came to him. Sonny had no way of knowing how useful Jason was going to be. Remember, at that time, no one thought he was capable of anything beyond as he described it parking cars and stacking boxes. He was basically just being kind to a lost and lonely young man. Sonny even tried several times to convince Jason. that working for him was not a good idea. Jason would have none of it.

Again, here we see Robin trying to control Jason. He already told her that he was willing to take the risks and the chances but she would never accept that part of him. The interesting part of this discussion is that she also discussed this with Sonny and he told her that Jason made a choice because Sonny explained to Jason that there were risks involved and Jason said he didn't care that he was willing to pay the consequences. So, Robin went behind Jason's back to talk to Sonny because she felt she needed to protect him and to take care of him. Something Jason has said many times he didn't want nor care for. After all of that, to argue that Robin was Jason's one true love is really a total nonsense because since the begining of their relationship it was extremely clear that Robin was never going to accept Jason for who he was and what he wanted to do unconditionally. She would always find a way to meddle and to interfere in Jason's affairs and eventually that was going to be a problem. As history showed, it happened. Robin in her self-righteous way intervened in Jason's life and changed it for ever. Blessed be!

I don't think he was his one true love, she was just his first and he was in love with her. I hate Robin, but it was an important relationship. I honestly feel that all the women he has been with have hurt him deeply. Carly ripped Michael away from him and was a horrible friend. I still hate that he forgave her but didn't forgive Robin for years. WTH? Courtney totally failed and couldn't handle the violence. Liz asked him to give up his child and couldn't handle the violence and was too wishy-washy. She always walked away from Jason and never fought to be with him. Sam could handle the violence, but when she got shot, suddenly she wasn't a ride or die chick and blamed him and tried to guilt him over and over about her not being able to have kids. She hated Jake...a baby... and wished he didn't exist. I don't care if she saved him later or not. It doesn't change how horrible she was that year or that she wouldn't even help find him. I hate her for that. How in the world would anyone forgive her or go back with her? It was totally OOC for Jason, even Steve said that. It made him look like a wus. I noticed they have Jason just let the women in his life walk all over him. It's his only weakness. I think he doesn't feel he deserves someone in his life and he just accepts whoever goes after him. My dream is that Jason will find someone new with no baggage who considers his feelings. I hate the way Sam treated him when he came back and he didn't even voice it. It was the perfect time to have him be with someone else and they didn't do it. Ugh. I hate the writing on the show. Sorry for my rant lol.

@@scyren1 Firstly, we want to thank you for taking the time to read our post. Secondly, we want to thank you for sharing with us your thoughts and comments. We truly appreciate them. Although, we don't agree with some of the things you wrote. We certainly respect the way you expressed them and your right to do so in the way you have done it. Lastly, we hope this is not the last we heard from you because we like to hear from everyone, especially when they do it in the respectful and judicious manner that you have done it. @@scyren1 okay alot to unpack.. so first off I agree with your points on Jason not forgiving Robin for years was stupid and complete b.s also I agree about Courtney and Elizabeth, they were never a good match for Jason ever. I however disagree about Sam. While Robin was in my opinion crucial to Jason in the beginning, and while I hate the way they chose to end them in '99, she and Jason were never going to end up together. It would have been out of character for both who Robin had always been and who Jason became. Robin always had a strong moral compass on right and wrong and the law mainly because of who her parents are and the way she was raised. Jason found his self in the mob, it became a part of him and he wasnt going to change after that. Eventually they were going to go back to that fight in '97 when they broke up the first time. I truly believe they should've just let them end there. Anyways onto Sam. She is the perfect match for Jason. Everything that happened starting in 2006 -2008 was out of character for alot of people on the show. Sonny getting with Emily of all people against Jason's wishes was out of character for both of them(sonny and emily) that leading to the rift between sonny and jason while manny who seemed to have 9 lives at the time was running rampant shot sam in Jason's arms which scared jason into making a decision out of fear which was out of character, cruelly dumping her when she woke up which lead to attempt after attempt to get him back and when he finally got his head back on straight it was too late. Sam slept with rick which was out of character for her. Rick being alexis husband was dip to sam but him being Jason's enemy is why it was out of character for sam. Well then we get the jake chronicles. What led upto that stupid ass day in the park wasnt because she hated Jason's baby, it was because of months of deliberate lies and secrets he kept with another woman. If jason had told her the truth sam would have accepted it and helped to raise jake along with jason. I'm not saying she would've jumped for joy or anything but Sam's breakdown was because of Jason's refusal to let her in and tell her the truth. Now that not saying everything sam did is all Jason's fault, she was dead ass wrong for her part in Jake's kidnapping and for her silence afterward. And I agree they shouldn't have been together after that. I also want to state it is in part Jason's fault sam was shot. Manny wanted to hurt Jason, while he couldn't control manny actions he was the reason behind them. Sam had every right to say that. Back to sam and jason.. in 2008 when everyone starting to get their heads back sam tried to make amends where she could. No not saying her saving jake erases what she did to him but I also can see why jason thawed towards her. He was the reason jake was kidnapped in 2008 and he was the reason Jake almost was blown to bits. Sam saved him. For Jason sam saved his son and helped to protect Elizabeth and her kids. He could see the woman she was when he fell in love with her back then. It took almost a year before they even got back together because they had to see if they could forgive each other their mistakes. Now as far as steve saying he didnt think Jason's character should be with sam or whatever you'll have to point me to where he said that. Everything I've seen he never said anything like that. He did say way back in 2005 when robin was coming back he would want to see jason and robin together again. It was over shadowed because robin and patrick had so much on screen chemistry just like Jason and sam did so those became the power couples. Sorry it was alot I didnt mean to rant this long.

I feel like they all manipulated him in different ways. They all weren't quite right for Jason. Sam was the closest to right, even though she made mistakes. Jason made them with Sam as well. Sam was the only one who didn't want him to change. Elizabeth and Robin were the worst for that. Elizabeth with her trapping and lies. Robin with her meddling. Elizabeth and Carly were on the same level with how they used Jason.
