I found a 96 KX250CC bike a guy had in his garage. I seen it in the corner covered with stuff. I was there to buy my grandson a kx65 he had for sale. I gave him my number and told him to call me if he ever wanted to sell it. He called last month. I own it now. A little love and it come alive like a beast. I love it. Low hours and still looks and rides like it's brand new. I'll have to clean it up and do a video of it.

I grabbed a brand new 96 in 2000 at a dealer, was supposed to be a practice/race bike for one of the riders on the east coast, came with suspension mods pro action and a pro circuit platinum pipe, carb mods, absolutely ripped the fastest...well my 91kx 250 is a different breed kind of fast but the 96 was still very fast and handled very well, I couldn't stand the purple but now it's sought after.

A buddy had a modded 1995 KX 250 that I got to ride a bit. This same bud also bought a 1996 CR 250 that was essentially new, so I rode that too. I actually prefer the Kawi of that era over the Honda, even though it required more maintenance to keep it fresh. What a fun performer and it also looked cool.

I had a '95, '97 and '00. I loved the '95 KX250, added stiffer fork springs and a PC pipe. The '97 was a nice all around bike but slow and the '00 was the same but really, really, really slow. All three had awful clutches and fasteners but that was standard Kawi for the entire 2 stroke era. That '95 is like a favorite ex-girlfriend. Thank you for these Tony.

First and only brand new bike I ever bought was a 1998 KX250 I was 19 financed it for some crazy ARP didn’t even now what I was signing up for but it was a good education once I figured out that most of my payments were for interest, all bikes from them on I paid for with cash that I saved up for

Thanks Tony for another great vedio! I guess at 58 my eyes must be going bad. But as I saw it, some of the bikes looked to be Green, Purple & Blue. Kind of reminds me of when Honda Red was Pink. And I know my eyes were working fine back then. LOL!

My last bike was a 97 KX250. Great shock, good handling, forks would spike your hands on a slap down. But I be I could beat a lot of today's MX pros on my favorite whooped out sand 40 mile loop in Baldwin Michigan with it today, (if I were in shape). :)

@@AbcAbc-ox6pg I ended up buying the 96 YZ250 at the time my friend had one and I loved it I still had a 92 cr250. If I waited just a month or two the new 97 CR250 came out I really kicked myself at the time for choosing the Yamaha. But I think my 2 stroke race bike days are long behind me now I still cruise the woods on my XR and have thought about maybe buying a new KTM woods bike but my racing days are over.

Great video, thank you. I had a ‘96 KX 250 with a FMF pipe on it and it really took off from the first blip of the trottle. After that I bought a new ‘99 KX 250 and for me that was a really great bike. Only minor was the too soft forks but other than that an absolute exellent bike! Man, the memories...

Well, the 1990 model was probably the best performer of all of the 90s KX125s but they are pretty old now. None of them were world beaters when new but I don't think any of that would much matter today. Personally I would go with the newest one you could find that is not beat to death and enjoy it for the nostalgic piece of moto history it is.
