So this is part one of a vlog style install of a duraflex v-speed body kit on the 1996 manual w58 lexus sc300. This is not a how to, but more of a fun install and update video. Enjoy.

Wow, personally? That kit would go back, and I'd never do business with them again...

That's a shit body kit. That's why you go over the entire body kit with body filler, so you can put excess putty where the gaps are, and sand the filler to make correct gaps...

Yo, all the cracking? What you do is bondo the cracks, then body fill, prime, and sand the entire part, before sending it to paint. You should really do that anyway, because paint will lay out, and stick better to a panel thst had been body filled and primed, than it will if you use adhesion promoter on a bare paned, then primed it. So don't worry about cracks. Get the parts installed, then bondo, body filler, primer over the entirety of all the body kit parts... After paint, it will look factory that way...

Excuse my ignorance but how is Duraflex more flexible than poly?
@petescarport4 жыл бұрын
Not physically flexible but material wise. I totally understand how that sounded off but what I meant was I could cut and fiberglass to fit better. Poly is definitely way better when dealing with a straight body.

I just bought a 92 sc300 5spd with 70k miles and im so excited to mod it. Mechanically its mint but one of the previous owners used a godamn brush to do some re painting and it looks so bad.

Sweet. That's an insane find. They are rare and with those miles should last forever.

Is there any weight reduction with the body kit on?
@petescarport4 жыл бұрын
No, because it's actually adding to the rear and stock the bumpers are very light poly and the fenders are light too. The hood and trunk on these cars is the heavy parts. Switch those to carbon fiber and save a ton of weight.

About to grab the same kit my dude !! Quick question , wide or standard body kit ? Wide right ?
@petescarport4 жыл бұрын
So I messed up a little and got 25mm front fenders and then they sent me 50mm rear with side skirts for 50mm. With all that said I had to modify a lot. I'm happy with how it's coming out but it was a ton of work. The funny thing is I started working on it again today. Paint going on this month and a lot more videos.

@@petescarport sweet dude. Sounds good, we shall be waiting ! Is it absolutely impeccable that I need full kit ,if I were to get the 25mm front bumper cover and 25mm front fenders. Are they super far from aligning/mating to the skirts ?

@@antoniogonzalez7419 I can send you some photos. I'm working on it today. Email me peterdavidson77@gmail.com

Frankenstein is lucky to have you. How many inches from the ground is the bumper?
@petescarport4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Not exactly sure how low but in video i havent secured the lower panel so it may look lower than it is. Oh also I do have adjustable coil overs as well.
