Thank you so much for sharing this very clear and instructional video. Every step is crystal clear. I wish others could do it too. Most of the time they talk a lot and show very little. Thanks again, mate.

Your KZbin water pump video saved me. Easy to follow and gave me the confidence to fix my Delica. Water pump bearing collapsed in regional country Queensland, Australia. Managed to get a new one in the next town and fixed it myself. Thank you!

Many thanks, my year 2000 L400 2.8 Diesel has a squeaking noise at the front when its cold mostly. Thought it may be just the belts but starting to think its the pump. Best I get it swapped out sooner rather than later. Your video will help me lots. I've subscribed ;)

Hi Shane, great vid mate. Couldn't hep but notice the battery, what size, CCA, brand are you running there? And has that freed up enough space to do a fuel filter change with out having to remove the battery too?... Also wondering if you would do a vid on how to do a major/full coolant system flush and how to bleed properly too? I like the bleed tap you installed as well, very nice touch!
@smithbuilt
@smithbuilt Ай бұрын
I think CCA is 1100 and it's a 125ah. Can't remember the make. Yes you can swap out the filter with it in place. You might get sore knuckles but you can do it. If I find myself filming next time I need to bleed the system I'll get it on film

@@smithbuiltthanks for the reply! And that’s great info for when I need to replace my batteries down the track. I’ll look into an option like yours. It just seems more practical . Thanks. And look forward to seeing more Delica how too vids also regarding maintenance etc and common issues. There’s not a lot of vids on it… Cheers!

Great vid Shane very helpful, can you tell me where to find a steam bleed valve like yours? do you have a link or the spec to source one, great idea

@@smithbuilt No worries. I just did this swap today. Much easier than the forums made it out to be! Unfortunately it wasn't the cause of my overheating, but one less possibility I guess.

@@smithbuilt Thanks, appreciate your reply. hopefully you're able to help - it's hard to tell if the radiator is clear. I took it out today and flushed it thoroughly, no idea if it's now clear or not! Thinking I'll try a new one. After that I'm seriously out of ideas!

@@russellbowden583 I have a "snake" camera I popped that in to have a look. But the odds are it's going to be the head. Are you losing water at all or just simply over heating?

Nice work Shane, I've got a series 2 with some cooling gremlins. It was a leak from the pump, apparently. You make it look so easy mate! It's going to garage on Monday, wish I had the patience and space to do it.

@Nick-ti1px

I’ve tensioned mine so they’re pretty tight with about 5mm play. Do you think that’s ok? Don’t want to bugger the new pump!
@smithbuilt
@smithbuilt 2 жыл бұрын
@@Nick-ti1px so long as theres no squeal on pull off I call that okay. Basically I try an keep my belts slacker rather then tighter. 5mm of play should be okay if that's free slack and not like a rubber band

@smithbuilt

I had a leak on the pump, most likely just the rubber seal but the car has done almost 400,000 km since I've owned it so I felt I might as well just replace the pump also.
