I understand John Deacon. He as lost a close friend and sees/ feels during this performance that Queen is no longer Queen but is even giving up the reins. The become spectators, have / will lose control of their work.. For the first time in their careers they have to submit/ adapt to others.

I felt so sad for Deacy in this video. He lost his brother, and his grief is still so fresh. I hope he has found contentment, and I hope he sometimes peeks in here and reads the comments about him...I've never seen a negative one, we all have mad love for John!

I feel John’s pain, he probably had terrible anxiety and stage fright in addition to the loss of Freddie. It probably contributed or even amplified it. I’ve had a few trigger life events that have been very difficult to get over, but nothing compared to losing a close friend like that.

What a memories!...I was 17 years old and I watched a report in an argentinian TV channel...and I was in ecstasy! My band had another return!!! But at that time i was a little bit desperate because i felt Queen was becoming a classic band, which they are, but clearly a band which was like in the past, with nothing much more to offer...and look at now...they are classic, inmortal and sounds in everywhere.... MY BAND!

I think that whether you knew Freddie Mercury as the popinjay Rockstar or the personal friend, if you loved him, you loved him. That must have been most unpleasant and dark for John. I remember getting the news. It felt like family had died. I sank in my seat, week. He had been there since I was a preteen, singing The Bohemian Rhapsody from some other realm of riding, music and singing. He was quite literally, unreal. Who could ever seem like that? He could, he did. How is it such beautiful lives often end so sadly and abrupt? 🤟💔🏳️‍🌈✌️

It surprises me that some ppl are so perplexed by the fact that John didn’t want to keep performing without Freddie. A band like Queen is like a 4 headed marriage (they’ve said exactly that themselves) Continuing with that metaphor, having to intimately perform with someone other than the original ppl in the “marriage” would almost feel like having to have sex w/a stranger & that, for me anyways, would be HELLA awkward. Queen, in it’s original incarnation, is like a magical, mystical, one of a kind animal & I’m forever grateful for their fabulous catalogue of music which we get to continue listening to & explore. 👑🦄

Everyone has their reasons for what they do & I totally respect that. I guess it's weird for people because, if they'd all agreed to stop, then most fans would just accept that that was the right choice. And same if they'd all agreed to keep going. But since the band has disagreed on this, some fans aren't sure how to feel. But that's Queen, they've never been afraid to challenge. ;)

@@TheaterPup I totally support Roger & Brian continuing to play as Queen - to expect them to stop doing what they love would be absurd & I think the number of fans who still flock to see them speaks for itself. For me, personally, it’s just too hard to reconcile today with my glorious youth & the magic of having seen the band perform live in all it’s spectacular glory. Those memories are precious & I hold them dear. I’m a huge supporter of everyone, everywhere doing whatever it is that makes them happy, as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone else in the process. So nice to find this video. At the time, I was studying ballet, and randomly found about thus show on the French television. I recorded it right away, and watched dozens and dozens of times along the years. I might know all the show by heart 😅 Many years later, I moved to Switzerland and watched the show live at least three times. For me, this is one of the most amazing pieces of art ever Queen/ Béjart/ Versace/ Mozart 💚💚💚💚 - and now it almost makes me sad the watch it again, because I cannot re-live that sense of wonder I experienced the first time I saw it. By the way, today I am such a fan of Adam Lambert, will watch Queen in London soon, so the circle is closing :)
