I like this upload......The class 47 was 47 219 'Arnold Kunzler', i nhad the pleasure of driving it, along with the 86 & 37 back to Acton on the Monday. Needing the 47 for driving i chose that loco to drive (there were two drivers and a guard) and took the light engine move to Aylesbury. Then the 37 was leading for the run over the branch to Risborough and along the Chiltern main line to Greenford. However, the load regulator on the 37 over-heated and we had to run the 47 round to the London end. We lost our path over the single line and were an hour later getting back but i had the bonus of more 47 driving-result! Happy days.......i rememeber taking the Ilford class 306 to Ricky the year before for that year's open day, loco hauled of course with 37 023.......

To be honest, the full-front red makes the 1973TS look much nicer rather than colouring the window area grey.

How long did that 1973 tube stock in United Airlines livery last for because I've read some sources say until October 1998 but I've also seen a photo of it at Acton Town claimed to have been taken in August 1999. Also I read that the heritage liveried 1959 tube stock was the last one to run in public service on 28th January 2000.

Sorry but its so long ago that I've lost track of the dates. What I do know however is that I never got to see the United Airlines train in passenger service.

yes, for instance: throwing passengers off flights so that members of staff can travel instead. Plus other events. But in 1996 they had a better reputation.
