I remember watching this game and staying up for the whole thing. The Avs were my favorite team until the Thrashers came and then CO became my #2 for a little while and I was still excited to see them win again in 2001.

It's pretty amazing. The panthers are going places (not hell), they inaugurate in 93, go to a final in 96, and they are still a work in progress.

you know what don't worry about it, it was a long time ago, although the cats had a great season that year upseting the eastern conference and being one of the quickest franchises to reach the stanley cup and I went to one of the games that year, it was crazy at the old Miami Arena, good memories of my childhood

NHL fans dont realize theres a florida panthers fan base down in florida. It may be small, but there are TONS of die hards. Im not a die hard but im a panthers fan and go to 7-8 games every season. and the panthers are gonna move. the fan base is only growing larger, and surprisingly the team is pretty popular in florida.

Im a avs fan and they were so good till this year. from 96-2008 they had a year were they made the playoffs well except 2007 but 95 points is the most ever to not get in. Did u know if there were no extra points the avs wouldve got in that year. I read an article on THN and it talked about without extra points teams with a better record couldve got in. Anyways i have no clue what has happened with the avs

Apparently you've never heard of Detroit fans throwing dead octopus or Calgary fans throwing steaks and other cow parts on the ice. The rat tradition was a rather novel one and the story behind it is rather amusing. Plus, throwing plastic rats on the ice didn't involve any dead animal parts and hence microbially safe.

And no way does this team go on a Cup run with Jocelyn Thiabult between the pipes. No they didn't get "special powers" but the move did play a significant role as well.

@lovelylass13 I have nothing against Quebec and i hope they enjoyed this cup as much as colorado but i dont think they would have won if they stayed in Quebec. The avs were much different the Quebec. Montreal would have never traded Patrick Roy To Quebec. They were rivals and it just wouldnt have happened. without Roy there would be no cup. Also with the free market quebec would not have been able to keep the team together after that. Joe sackic would have went to the rangers in 1997.
