With 3 minutes to go in the third the USA had just tied the game, Tony Amonte has one of the best shifts you will ever see. Amazing hustle. He beats Wayne Gretzky to the puck twice , got a great shot off with a great save by Joseph, then got an assist on his own goal after passing it to Hatcher. Just awesome hustle and will to win.

@invertedxxxi Жыл бұрын
@@veronicabellucci7129 No I would say that most people would agree. It's honestly insane that this level of talent was actually on the same ice at one point. That's why so many people are chopping at the bit to see another tournament like this, or another NHL Olympic run. I honestly think that if Canada and USA put together teams today, it could rival this or possibly be even better. We have yet to see Connor McDavid captain team Canada with Sidney Crosby, Mitch Marner, and Nathan MacKinnon Then on the other side, you would have USA with Jack Eichel, Austin Matthews, Jack Hughes Quinn Hughes, and Luke Hughes and obviously so much more on both teams. It really would be crazy. There's actually supposed to be another World Cup next year. I just hope it's as stacked as I imagine.

It will be a while before you see the US win another gold medal. I was pretty devastated when this happened. But after Canada mopped the floor with the USA at the 2002 and 2010 Olympics I realized that this little underdog win for the USA was probably a good thing for hockey overall, and that in the big picture, it doesn't put USA anywhere near Canada's level.
@invertedxxxi Жыл бұрын
In 2010 Canada won by one goal in overtime. What happened in 2006? Can't help but notice you left that one out? Oh yeah, you lost in the opening round and didn't place at all. Granted, neither did we. But it's also not our sport. We're too busy winning at everything else. I love how you guys try to act like you win all the time when anybody can look at the IIHF world championship and Olympic history and find countless examples of times where you guys got smoked by Finland Russia and Sweden. I realize USA doesn't normally win. But it's not "our sport" which is what makes tournaments like this so ridiculously sweet. Even with all that fire power and The Great One, Canada just couldn't get it done. And it's in the history books forever.
