Funny how they explain the differences between a road bike and a mtb

It’s because it’s the Olympics lot’s of TV coverage, new sport to the Olympics, EVERYONE and their grandma knows what a road bike is or a ten speed from all the media attention of the late 70’s into the late 80’s, the average American was not familiar with the difference. “Uh, it’s like a big BMX on dirt” no “it’s like a ten speed with BMX wheels and they race in the dirt” and on and on. I thought they did a very good Mountain Bike for Dummies” with good visual references and comparisons to the more commonly known (in 1996) road bike. I’m not getting sound for it just the visuals were enough for me to get the basic gist.

big bart had a complete two year domination back in 95/96, one of the top 5 best xc racers ever, next to frischy, miguel martinez, absalon and rune hoydahl.
