Would you change the transmission fluid in a 2000 Toyota Camry 2.2 with 201k. It looks like it was change a long time ago. And the pan gasket leaks. BUT MY PROBLEM IS THE TRANSMISSION PAN BOLT HEADS ARE VERY RUSTY,ROUNDED OFF AND SOME ARE GONE COMPLETELY. VERY ODD BECAUSE THE CAR IS NOT RUSTY UNDERNEATH. OR REALLY ON THE BODY. GREAT VIDEO. MAKE MORE!!!

@RustBeltAuto
@RustBeltAuto 6 жыл бұрын
Jesse Urban using 2 prybars instead of just 1 to pop out the axle from the trans has always worked for me. Unless you are referring to the hub side? If you really need to, you can take the rack out with the cradle. It's just messy. Ps fluid usually goes all over the place when you take off the lines. Like it never stops dripping from everything.
@jesseurban4462
@jesseurban4462 6 жыл бұрын
The axle seems to be stuck in the transmission, the first side popped easy. I’ve try the 2 pry bars trick. Gonna try again in the morning. I hit the rack bolts again with some more pb blaster and letting me soak up some. I’d hate to have to pull the rack down with the frame, may have to though, I figure if I do I’ll use the impact gun to break them bolts lose on the ground. I have a feeling these bolts been on since 2000, figure I’ll anti seize them just Incase I have to ever remove the rack agai . I want to say thanks for the video, Im not a mechanic by all means but I’ll sure do my best to get this sucker going again. Most I’ve done was breaks and a starter, this will be a rewarding achievement.
@RustBeltAuto
@RustBeltAuto 6 жыл бұрын
People seem to have a hard time with that one axle. I have always gotten them out. Choiceless. More leverage ups the odds, and an even consistant jerking motion with 2 prybars works for me. you could try to turn the axle 90 degrees or something once in a while just to move the clip around in there too, maybe that will help. Most people take the rack out with the cradle. I just don't like the mess.

tony tite I don't believe that is your problem, just because it is so rare for that to happen, have heard of it though, and if it is, you need to get the old one out carefully with a chisel, hammer, and probably a vise grip to grab it after you bent the crap out of it, or pound it sideways, and pull it out. Then you need to get a new core plug, put some #2 permatex non hardening pliable gasket sealant on it, and pound it in with a core plug, seal installer.
