WooHooo!!! For the CRVs. Got my 2000 CRV in 2002 with 42,000 miles. It now has 397,000 miles. Same engine. Same guts. Adjust my valves every couple years if they need it. Timing belts and components a few times. One alternator. A few batteries. A fuel pump that I thought it needed but didn't. Inside interior took on my two daughters for years and years and still looks great. Once they leave for college my CRV is gonna get that lift kit I've promised it for years. Gonna camp and explore every state for a month each. May write book about it. Enjoy your rides my friends. See you soon!!!

check out the numerous youtube videos of off road crv and snow crv gen one videos. they are pretty capable as stock with good tires. driving style and skill is however a big factor as it is with any vehicle. many would no agree with the negativity expressed towards this vehicle. it is in essence an awd honda civic wagon. it can do amazing things on road and offroad. depends on who is behind the wheel. at any rate this is a helpfull diy for people. thank you for making it.

My 1998 CRV does have a good Hug on the highway. 140KPH on Highways and its really stable especially when the back wheel kicks in. no body roll whatsoever during curves on 40-60KPH run. as long as you stay off the gas during sharp curve/turns it will get you to the other side. I like this model ALOT. cheap spares, small on the outside, big ass space on the inside. pretty good mileage too compared to my friend's Rav4. the only issue I got right now with it is when the back wheel kicks in, there is a clunk. wear and tear I suppose. overall compared to most modern cars I will rate the 1st gen 8/10. 20yr old car and still looking pretty.

If you're neighbor is slipping and sliding with a RD1, then it's probably crappy tires. I live in MN and we get a ton of snow up here, and I own 2 RD1s with good all weather tires and I drive just fine. Factor in I live on top of a hill too, I literally have yet to run into any issues. None the less, great video.

Hello, it seemed like the rear would only single out 1 tire when it was stuck in the snow and that was causing it to not be able to pull itself out.

Do you have a video of how to remove the rear bumper

I don't understand the traction issues your mother is having. I have a 2000 SE that gets amazing traction in the snow on just regular street tires. Not long after I bought it, we got 4-5 inches of snow overnight. I was the first to get leave my neighborhood the next morning (no other visible tracks). It climbed the steep hill that goes out to the main road, like it was on flat ground. Near the top, the front tires spun for about half a second before the rear tires kicked in and it powered right up the hill like it was nothing. As for being tippy......mine hugs the road in corners and tight curves, like it's on rails with almost zero body roll.

Same. I've never had any issues either. I have 325k miles. I fixed the diff so it's Full Time Awd and changed all the control arms etc. Rides like a new car. Dynomated the entire car so it's pretty much quit inside

When he started rambling about how bad it is on snow or highway speeds I had to jump to the comments lol.. I knew there would be some rage. No idea what he's talking about either, they are actually fantastic road trip cars in all weather. Maybe he's just gunning it a little too hard, it's not a sports car.

Can someone please let me know what the front bottom bar underneath front bumper is for?
@hammond26007 жыл бұрын
Just a little extra protection. If that bar hits something, don't try to drive over it because it might take out your oil pan.

I mangled mine on a boulder while following a lifted 4runner through mud 😂 no other damage to the front end so I just took it off all bent to hell. Doesn't effect the driving at all.
