The differential was fine and did not need replacing. You found the real problem at 1:45 but since you do not know what you are doing you did not know it. It's called the "rear differential damper" and that's all it needed. Also, you can only use Genuine Honda Dual Pump Fluid in a Honda PERIOD.
@hondaresource6 ай бұрын
🤣🤣🤣🤣toss that damper on the trash, it's not needed. I'm aware of what fluid goes in it.
@markkramer24015 жыл бұрын
Make sure you use new crush washers on the drain/fill plugs, and burnish the clutch after changing diff fluid. I would also recommend putting the lug nuts back on the studs if you're swinging a hammer to prevent thread damage, that way you can use a mini sledge vs a mallet.
@lowellgrimm69343 жыл бұрын
What if you have burnished and changed fluid but still acts like plates are sticking together bad catching and releasing to the point you about can't give it gas motor won't over power it either

Will changing the fluid stop the howling when vehicle speed increases or can you rebuild it with all new bearings or is it easier just to get a whole new one
@hondaresource3 жыл бұрын
Usually if it's not worn out, the howling stops with fresh fluid.
@akllls6174 жыл бұрын
I noticed you just threw it on? No new seals no nothing ? Did the differential have any trouble or was it fine the way it was ? I ask because I’m getting a used differential and I’m wondering if going over would be overkill

Nice video bro! Question: i have a 97 crv and my user manual says to use atf fluid to rear differential but you use dual pump fluid, do you know this difference? Both work?
@prescientoracle63359 ай бұрын
It's probably too late, but use DPF II. The manual can help a lot, but with my experience, it is not exactly accurate s lot of the time. Example: I changed out my CV axle and hub assembly, and the spindle nut alone was labeled 24mm, when it was 36mm. You should always look up other people's experiences when working on your vehicle.

A little problem about spacer want to clarify . Have anyone try to install the spacer on rear wheel only on CRV rd1,Did that cause any problem or damaged to the differential work due to drive? I am planning to install a pair of 15mm spacer on rear wheel of my CRV rd1 so really want to clarify this matter.
@hondaresource3 жыл бұрын
spacer has nothing to do with the differential. If anything it may put just a little more stress on the wheel bearing. 15mm is pretty minimal for a spacer.
