Dex Cool is good however if ANY air is introduced to the system it causes corrosion in a bad way.

My tahoe has rusted out metal hoses on bottom of radiator so what are they called so i can replace the in texas now but truck was brought fom minnesota just filled coolant but 1 week gotta fill again

Hey margaritas your hoses are made of rubber connecting to the radiator. Most likely you need a new radiator. Aluminum corroded over time and causes leaks. Try an autoparts store. Good luck make sure you subscribe. It helps keep my channel running for free

And good for you keeping that coolant filled. I would carry 2 1 gallon jugs in your tahoe until its fixed the holes can get bigger and running a car without coolant will destroy an engine and cost 1000s

Okay so if i go an put 3/4 on the bottom of the heater control value right now i have 5/8 on it.so the will fix the leak i work on a lot of cars not trucks im young first truck i have ever had 99 Chevy Suburban about to get 4ft of snow just need it fixed anyone

+cody Yopp yes on a 1997 Chevy Tahoe there are 2 different sizes on the heater hoses connecting to the heater core.

I also reccomend dating out the orange coolant dexcool if you have it. I used it for years and found out it's corrosive to gaskets hoses and radiators. I have 180,000 miles on my tahoe and it's had only coolant issues over 18 years. I wish I had known earlier to change to green coolant
