Great video brother, bless you for making it, l need to replace both my steering boots on my 96 Honda Accord LX, this video will be playing as I'm doing it.

If you're going to use zip tie make sure you cut it and then take a small file to the rough / sharp edges because they will cut your boot over time

Great video man, thanks for making it. Glad to know that it is simple enough to do myself.

What does the small hose on the end of the boot do? I found mine off today while doing checking my 99 civic
@1peanut Жыл бұрын
hose is directly connected to both left and right boots. When you steer the air pressure in the boots goes back and forth. The boots can expand and contract evenly. this helps keep them sealed in a clean environment.
@rookie1178 Жыл бұрын
@@1peanut My hose has been snapped off for a while now, what's the danger of not replacing it
@1peanut Жыл бұрын
@@rookie1178 without the hose. your boots will suck in air, dust, sand and moisture. This contamination getting on the components can cause premature seal failure of the rack.

@@1peanut well that's not good. Thanks for the info

It looks like you need to replace your inner tie rod. You shouldn't be able to turn your inner tie rod that easy. It should be stiff. PITA un-staking the nut securing the inner tie rod to the steering rack.
@VITOSGARAGE4 жыл бұрын
I agree. But the inner tie rod didn't have play. If it had play I'd have replaced it. But again, it's not my car. Thank you for watching. I post new videos every week. Let me know if you enjoy any of my latest videos. Cheers:)
