I grew up in Texas but as a kid I was enamored with the Michigan Wolverines. The program and university just had an aura surrounding them… I ended up graduating from the University of Texas & I love my Longhorns but I’ll always cherish from afar the Michigan Wolverines. Hail!

At least a deserving Nebraska team took home the crystal football.Something Michigan did not deserve because they hid in the Rose Bowl and did not play Nebraska.

@@stevem6856 The fact still remains that Sanders was a 2 time pro athlete playing in the big leagues. He was a two-time All-American at cornerback. Sanders was the 1988 Thorpe Award winner as the nation's finest defensive back, Ran a 4.27 forty. Deion Sanders is considered by many to be the finest cover corner in the history of college football. Won the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation's top defensive back as a senior in 1988, is considered by many to be the finest cover corner in the history of college football.Earning letters in track and field, baseball and football, Sanders is one of the greatest athletes in NCAA history. He earned All-America honors as a sprinter on FSU's 4X100 relay team and played in the College World Series as an outfielder on the baseball team. Florida State retired his #2 football number in 1995 Deion was drafted as a professional by both the Atlanta Falcons of the NFL and the New York Yankees in Major League Baseball. wolverine58 Nebraska faces a weak volunteers team that had key offensive line and defensive players injured and a hurt manning at qb . Washington state had a way more explosive and better offense then one dimensional Nebraska . The Michigan defense would have dominated that option - the speed and athletes were great and Michigan had one of the best defense's ever . Nebraska got a sympathy vote for osbourne . The kick ball game and overtime with Missouri should have shown that Nebraska didn't deserve. A share and their schedule was a joke bc the big 12 was a joke for most of the 90's /go blue !

@nedstewart1
@nedstewart1 3 жыл бұрын
@MadMax™ Because FSU was the best team in the nation that year and Michigan with it's enormous nationwide fan base and not winning a national championship in 50 years received much more national publicity than they deserved. Michigan has always been overrated and did not deserve their CO-championship being they did not demand the overrated Rose Bowl let Michigan break their contract which would have allowed them to play in the Bowl Alliance National Championship game. Carr really let his players down by not demanding a national championship game with Nebraska.

Nebraska won the 97 national championship.....Michigan got the consolation trophy.....and that's the truth.

At least Nebraska honorably played in the Bowl Alliance National Championship game and took home the crystal football. A trophy Michigan will never be able to put in their trophy case. Nebraska was the true national champion.

It's the other way around. Michigan is the true national champion in 1997, and I say that as someone who lived in Nebraska then.

Theirs no doubt that FSU placed more players in the NFL in the 97-98 season and the following 2 season than Michigan did. Theirs no doubt that the Rose Bowl was a johnny come lately joining the BCS. Michigan hid in the Rose Bowl in their co-championship season. FSU lost in the Swamp in the last minute to Florida & if it was not for that would have played in the Bowl Alliance national championship game against Nebraska. FSU was the best team in the nation in the 97'-98' season. No Rose Bowl hiding for Nebraska or FSU. Michigan is a media darling and had not won a national championship in 50 years. Their was a sympathy vote for Michigan by the Rose Bowl circuit teams. But the people who were mad about the Rose Bowl to not join the Bowl Alliance voted for we'll play any body any place any where Nebraska and not for the Rose Bowl hiding Wolverines.SHAME ON MICHIGAN FOR HIDING IN THE ROSE BOWL! NEBRASKA BOWL ALLIANCE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS. JOINED THE BOWL ALLIANCE AND WOULD NEVER HIDE IN THE ROSE BOWL AND CLAIM A CO-CHAMPIONSHIP!

You sound like an idiot. Michigan beat every team that was in front of them. Nobody gives a fuck who you put in the NFL. Especially after finding out about all the ncaa violations miami committed. You're known for being the dirtiest team in the sport and that's the only title miami will ever hold

Jeff Spicoli Nebraska lost to Mizzou. That TD in the 4th was illegal. Peyton also chokes in big games. Michigan would have won by 20
