As great as Charles Woodson's TD run was, the #1 moment in Michigan Stadium history has to be the '69 defeat of National Champion Ohio State when you consider all of the circumstances surrounding that game. It changed Michigan football forever. In the preceding years Michigan had trouble putting fans in the stands. Since then, the stadium has been full and Michigan is always considered a top-tier football program. All because of one game. It has to be number one.

Love this vid, and the memories and moments. However, the fans got this one wrong. It is impossible to say how huge the 1969 win over that school down south was. Michigan beat the best college football team (maybe ever) that year; it established Bo's program at UM; it set the stage for literally everything that came after it (including all of these highlights). It was, and remains, the upset of the century, and it should be number one on this, and all subsequent lists. People have short memories, but this one will last forever.

@TheSecondWitness5 жыл бұрын
Number 1 will always and probably forever be Johnny Wangler to Anthony Carter - 45 yard miracle play with no time left for Schembechler’s team to beat Indiana. Never before, and never since, have the fans gone so crazy, for so long. No one wanted to leave the stadium that day. They hung around for an hour after the game, before they finally began to leave. Goal posts were tore down and paraded throughout the town. It was on the 100th anniversary of Michigan football, on Homecoming Day. Bob Ufer topped it off with the greatest radio call ever: “Johnny Wangler to Anthony Carter will be heard until another 100 years of Michigan football is played.”

As a diehard lifelong Michigan fan this is hard for me to say, but Kordell Swewart's 70 yd hail mary should have made this list. Granted it beat us but it was still a top 10 Michigan Stadium moment. The title is Michigan Stadium moments, not Michigan Wolverines moments.

No way man. It's "top" moments, not "worst" moments. And not to take anything away from anyone, that play was a fluke. Stewart's throw was tipped and another Colorado received happened to be in the right place at the right time. Not sure why Stewart gets the credit for this. For all those that talk about the app state loss. The size of the school determines D1 or D2. It doesnt mean they are garbage...app state won the D2 National Championship that year. These are all excellent. But my favorite Wolverine moment of all time is still Leroy Hoard's big run late in the 1989 Rose Bowl against USC.
