The 1996 and 1997 OU-Nebraska games were so incredibly lop-sided. I'm a Husker fan, but I prefer the more competitive games between these two teams.

It's amazing how a program that looks as poor as Oklahoma does here is able to win a National Championship just 3 years later. I wish Nebraska could get a turnaround like that in such a short time now.

IMHO, the '97 Husker team was IMHO the second most talented Husker team ever, with the most talented Husker team ever being the '95 team. Both teams had amazing starting talent and great depth across their rosters. Those were the days.

Rob Johnson big difference Phillips case was a player. Paterno’s problem was a coach and friend that was and still sick SOB. Osborne wanted to help a player that needed help. Course while Phillips was gone, Nebraska kept winning, but hey what do you know.

1 ranked OU team (16, not this one) during the 60-3 whimsical run. A coach's main nemesis is non existent and the coach is elevated to god like status. Sure! Right!

@@sorney98 You have never slammed me. We could established baselines of what greatness in a football team comprises. A 60-3 run when your nemesis were bottom dwellers would be make the cut in one of those baselines. Over and over and over, the 60-3 was a farce.

Rob Johnson funny because yet I commented something on another video, I go to check on it and it’s gone. 🤔🤔🤔🤔. Besides yes Oklahoma was down for a while, so what. We kicked their ass as we should of when they had their down years. 60-3 in 4 years is big accomplishment and no one, and repeat no one will touch it. 3 seasons of a undefeated season. We played quality teams during those years. Get over it hater.

Leading 48-0 and Osborne still has first string in. Need to go look at MI see if Carr was up the same poor sportsmanship that Osborne was. The more you watch Osborne, the more you understand why few outside of Lincoln believed what he was shoveling regarding Phillips. It was all about winning to Osborne.

@@markross882 sure it was. 2 games later leading Iowa st 56-0 with 20 secs left in the 1st half, the players look to Osborne asking, "what do we do, take a knee or go for it." The fine, principled Osborne ordered his first string to score again.
