I never get tired of watching the Huskers run the full I-formation with the double tightends. Now that is what power running is all about. The old "one-grenade-gets-them-all" formation. ; )

The run by Phillips at the 1:39:30 mark is ridiculous. The instant replay gives it more justice.

I almost think that Frazier's injury (and Berringer's subsequent collapsed lung) actually galvanized the team and improved their focus, especially on defense. I don't know that NU was all that sharp at the beginning of the year, though they were very talented

Around the 57 minute mark: "If there's one player Nebraska can ill-afford to lose, it's Tommie Frazier." Well, I guess you can't be right about all of them. RIP, Brook.

Funny how Miami either didn't watch this game or didn't pay attention to the fullback dive/trap. A ridiculously simple play that turned this game against Tech and beat Miami in the bowl game.
@dadestarmysteries255
@dadestarmysteries255 4 жыл бұрын
2200Z: I'm sure they paid attention to it, but Frazier and Phillips were both so dangerous on the option, and both had made big plays in those final drives that they had to focus so much on that. Also they were exhausted and maybe losing their focus. Perfect time to slip it to the fullback.

No recollection of ever having seen this game. Thanks for the upload. BTW, your avatar is an "OU" logo. Funny that you'd be posting husker football games/wins :-) (Frazier & Berringer both injured during the '94 season) Those 90s NU teams were so good from top to bottom, it wouldn't have mattered who QB'd them.

That was the era of athletes playing QB on many top teams; they generally didn't do much in the NFL. Jamelle Holieway, Tony Rice, Darian Hagan, Frazier, Frost. Frazier was a decent passer, but not pro ball level.

I will get told to let it go again, but these same refs that suck most likely were the same that screwed NU in the Lets "put" one second on the clock to make sure Texas wins a few years later. How sad this has continued to ruin so many otherwise good games, instant replay & booth reviews my rear end

joseph RANDOLPH !!!: Yeah, I'm with you for the most part, but really Pelini screwed us on that by doing that retarded squib kick, otherwise known as the dumbest play in football. It ALWAYS backfires. How a coach doesn't know by now not to do that is beyond me. You automatically put your defense in a terrible position because all the other team has to do is get a few first downs. It's why Pelini could never win big games. He got scared and couldn't be decisive.

39:55 was a horrible call. Nowadays, with the instant replay, there's no way that's ruled a catch. I remember Byron Hanspard leaving for the NFL with something like a less than 1.0 grade point average. Good running back that appearantly wasn't very interested in applying himself in the classroom.

wow. NEB won 42-16. Impressive. Cough. 4 losses later #21 USC would tack on another 55-14 to make the total 6 losses. Cough. Another NEB win during the 60-3 run exposed.

@robjohnson8861 5 жыл бұрын
@Vincent Hart Visit some more Neb videos. I have stat after stat as to why the 60-3 run was a farce. He beat 18 ranked teams. * 5 were KSU's Snyder who finished 5-36 against top 10 ranked teams. * 4 were the bowl coaches who finished with a 35-38 bowl record. By any measure he be mediocre/bad coaches in those bowls. * 1 was UCLA who finished with 6 losses and unranked * 1 was WVU who finished with 6 losses and unranked and blah, blah. 2 or 3 of the CO wins were actually his most impressive wins. The run was not impressive.
@robjohnson8861
@robjohnson8861 5 жыл бұрын
@Vincent Hart lol. you are right. In 95, * #10 KSU played unranked CO State in the bowl. CO State was not ranked in either poll all year long. * #11 Kansas played unranked UCLA. How can they be ranked in the middle of 25 teams and not face a ranked team in their bowls. Fast forward the next year, * #10 VA Tech faced #6 Neb and * #11 NWestern faced #9 TN.

mikeyG25: That's a different video. Texas Tech has been slightly better than Nebraska in recent years, but since you came here to remind us of that I guess I'll have to point you back to this video showing what Nebraska always did to Texas Tech until those recent years. One major difference though-in this season Nebraska goes on to win one of five NC's. Texas Tech has never come close to winning even one. In other words, I'd rather have Nebraska because what's Texas Tech's success in the last 20 years worth? Not one conference championship, bcs bowl or playoff appearance, or anything close to a NC. I'll still stick with Nebraska, thanks.
