I got a 1999 Toyota Celica, looks like the one in this video. I did the interior myself. I am leaving soon. Not easy for me to let this beauty go….I get so many compliments all the time, even from people with high end cars. I’ve purchased very expensive paint, had it painted from black to a very beautiful snow white, designed the interior and the wheels. I’ve put love and energy in to my child/car. With this car you’ll make fewer stops at the gas station. I took it to Christian Brothers Automotive and had them go all thru the car and replace whatever was needed and I have the receipt. Basically all fluids flushed/replaced, hoses, belts, fuel system cleaned, AC charged, muffler replaced and more. The car was recently inspected and passed with zero issues.

This is the car that made me a car enthusiast, as my dad had one when I was little and I helped him work on it. They're incredibly rare where I live, and finding a gt, hardtop, manual, is impossible. I've seen two of these cars, on the road, in my life. They're more rare than Ferraris and other exotics. That being said, seeing what this guy did to my dream car makes me so sad.

Got an ST one and half years ago, man, best buy I ever did yet. Hidraulic steering and manual shifter are awesome. It really feels like everything is very well build together, its simple but well done. I really ejoy driving it. Two negative points about this car: not good for high way, this car really need a 6th gear and rear seats, but its not like ill have 3 passengers everyday anyway.

No way?! I have a 94 st Liftback and I do love how it hugs corners and and like you mention the nimbleness. You really think the Gt is less fun than the st? Cause I’m thinking to look for a Gt but if it doesn’t handle as well eh
@mg1822 Жыл бұрын
@@eVerProductions1 The GT is not as fun and worst for a daily driver. The GT has a terrible 5pd trans IMO....the gears are way too short and you'll be pulling 4K RPM's when driving 70mph+ on the highways. The GT is very reliable but I would suggest a engine/trans swap (3SGT or 2GR) and E153 trans. A E153 trans will work with the 5SFE engine and give you a taller 4/5th gear and better RPM's on the highway. I'm not sure what way I want to go with my GT yet.
@eVerProductions1 Жыл бұрын
@@mg1822 dang, thanks for the heads up!! I really was hung up missing this one chance I found a Gt Liftback 5 speed but only because I thought it was a faster version of my st but if the nimbleness isn’t there, which is why I love my st, then eh.

Yeah, it only made 110 horsepower, but this little bastard is light and nimble af, and because of that I always felt so connected to the ground and it could just turn on a fucking dime for a FWD car, whereas my Accord feels like I have to fight it to turn anywhere near as tight. @DMS PerformanceLLC Mine is a 4 Speed auto to, I love it. Of. Course its not fast on a straight away but take it around some corners and its pretty damn quick, sorta like a Toyota BRZ or Scion FRS. I've been on a joy ride quite a few times now in a 91 CRX si, and let me tell you that thing rips around corners like no tomorrow. Horsepower isn't everything, putting money into the suspension whether Progressive Springs or coilovers along with an anti sway bar and better struts along with better brake rotors can definitely switch up how the car handles pretty quick.
@hydrohyperdrive84432 жыл бұрын
Plus if its your daily its most likely not worth modifying the engine, as most people dont know what they are doing and like to throw crap on and not get a tune, plus effect engine life longevity. The the people who consistently moan about if its an auto or manual in the car community are quite annoying, especially since most automatic cars today are lot better and more responsive then automatic cars from probably 20 or more years ago.

I got the engine bay completely detailed along with removing the rear seats for more room. The only thing I need to do now is get the car a new paint job at a Maaco, Overall the paint isn't to bad just some oxidization on the hood and roof, its red so I want to keep it that original color to.
