'Top Speed Germany' is a German KZbin channel for people who love cars.
My Name is Max and I film while driving cars. No matter if they are old, fast, loud or electric. They need to be special! With several onboard cams, I record everything important to show you High-Speed-Runs, Acceleration tests ( 0-100 kph / 0-200 kph / 100-200 kph / 200-300 kph ) and test drives on German Autobahn or Road. Please note, Germany is the country of "no speed limit" highways. So in some places, it's allowed to drive very fast. But please don't try this if you are not an experienced driver !! If you enjoy give a like and subscribe for more videos ;-) .

This was my first car like 15 years ago. A blue 4 door, 1998 volkswagen polo 6n, 1.4 with iirc 55HP. It even had electric windows! Manual mirrors though. Glacially slow but I didn't care, took it all over Europe from the UK to France to the German autobahn. Still regret not taking any pictures of it because that thing was a blast, reliable as fuck too. Only thing wrong with mine was that the starter would refuse to work every once in a while, just a quick whack with a stick or rocking the car back and forth and it would fire right up every time, every day no matter the temperature. If it was really cold It might take a minute for all cilinders to start firing though but honestly that was part of the charm lmao. It would crawl its way up to about 160kph if you had a couple days off and enough patience. Certainly not for a car for anyone in any kind of a hurry but it was cheap to buy, run, and insure and it never left me stranded. Great first car.

I had one like that (3 door version) and moving books was fun. Loaded up completely (about 15 cardboard banana boxes full of books do fit, fold the rear seats, 12 in the back, one in front of the passenger seat and two on that seat) it does max out the suspension. Going fast with a fully loaded polo is delicate business.

Congratulations on testing this model! From my point of view it was the most beautiful Polo model. It had engines for all tastes. It is appreciated that the 1.0 l engine is 4-cylinder and not 3-cylinder as it is now. In the 90's the car industry reached its peak, after which it started to decline. It is appreciated that in the 90's the Polo model also had sedan and station wagon variants!

Can german people explain me, what is the german mentality on cars? i mean how germans see the ownership of a car? how long they usually keep it? how often they change it ,how new it must be? or how many km it must have? What are the kind of germans that still use a 20 years old car? How many km you drive per year? Are you guys consider cars like Audi A7/A8 after 2010 being Reliable? When you should change your car? I really want to hear opinions of real germans that live in germany, not other dudes that lives in other coutries and say that germans thinks like or do like that etc.
@revoltec3792
@revoltec3792 3 жыл бұрын
As far a I know for many people in Germany a car is a status symbol. I know a few people which own car only because they want to not because they need to. They say it is cool to have one and of course many things are easier to do with a car. I’d guess most people here keep their car 5 years at max but there are some that keep them for 10 years and rarely there people that keep their cars for 20 years or longer. I am currently 22 years old and the people I know around my age consider cars newer than 2005 new enough but I do not really care if it’s a good car. I drive a 1993 VW Vento, 1.9 TD with 75 HP and although it is not fast I do like it. The people that still use their car after 20 years are probably older people that love their car and are able fix a lot themselves. I drive about 20k km per year (though because of Covid that is currently not the case) I guess Audis after 2010 are still reliable but it all depends on good you care for it I think. And I’d say you should change your car if it is to expensive to fix or if you could get a better car for the price the repair would be. I am probably very different from the average German car owner though so I can’t say if many would agree with me

@@revoltec3792thank you so much for taking your time to answer to my questions 😊 even if you own a very old car, i guess that german people don't wanna hear or have an old car anymore, or they don't wanna get back to an old car ,which is 20 years old or something like that. Probably you see very rare a car from 2001 in germany, which in my country is the opposite, you see THOUSAND of them. Also i guess like germans lease them? i mean they don't buy a new one cash, they have a leasing ,and after that they sold them? as you said they don't have the interest to keep their car more than 5 years, as guess that they probably want newer and newer every time. The wanna drive the new model.
