Recently I got 2006 Polo 1.2 12v - 47kw, so just a slightly more powerful than that. And even though it's almost 15ys old, it's not that great in acceleration, and all the interior parts are kind of squeaky, there's something pleasant about this car. It has the attitude.

Poor you. I imagine you when your first coil will break break and you'll run on two cylinders (it happened twice in 5 years for me). Or when you'll have the engine light displayed on, your garage will make you change the lambda probe or the catalyst but it's just the wires are fucked up. Beware the electronics of this car. This is the reason I'm throwing it to junkyard now.

When I'm reading the comments, I'm glad, that I still own one. I can't afford a new car, that has to visit a workshop twice a year and eats money like crazy because of that. You can do what you want and by yourself in this car. No Problem with Oil Inspections... you can refresh the oil and reset the service notification simply by yourself (Yes I also replace the filters). I love this car... it will break my heart, If its gonna die and I have to buy a new car without this amazing and unique character

@@TechSignn 2009. I have no experience with that car. I still own the polo 9N1 (2003) 1.2 . 64PS are enough for the city and a short trip on highways. If its the facelift from my car (next gen) then I would say yes, absolutely, but it depends on mileage, if the owner did regularly maintenance by a workshop, had the car an accident ? You probably rev it too high. Most people really moan about this engine, but it behaves just as you treat it. Don't go over 130km/h. Don't rev it over 3k rpm on acceleration. If you push it, it will consume oil. ofc if the issue persists, you could consider faulty head gasket, but there are always other signs.
