1998-2002 Honda Accord | Brake Lights Won't Turn Off | Brake Pedal Stop Pad Replacement

This video saved me. The stop pad on my old Infiniti broke and the mechanic didn't think the part could be found anymore. Thanks man. They were trying to sell me the entire switch for 30 and I got the two piece bushing and stopper set at oreilly for around $8.30 instead. Took me 2 minutes to swap out. You rock.

Yeah, they would’ve made you waste $30 since that wasn’t even the root cause of the concern. The pad literally touches the brake switch, so it makes me wonder how they missed a whole ass pad and misdiagnosed it as a brake switch issue.

It's too late right now to go get a replacement part, so I wedged something between the pedal and button to stop the lights from being on. I'll be headed to the auto parts store tomorrow morning to get a replacement and make the fix!

This happened to me yesterday. I had to disconnect my battery. Hopefully, this is the issue with my car because it's an easy fix. I did find broken pieces of hard plastic on the floor so it's looking like that is the issue. Thanks for sharing.

I ordered the replacement part online. The pouch contains two stoppers. One rubber (black) and one vinyl (white) My Honda Civic 2003 is automatic so no clutch pedal. Which stopper do I use for the brake pedal ?
