Just replaced the radiator on my 98 Corolla two days ago, and the vid was very helpful! In the process, I learned some things that might be of use to others: 1) I was able to do the entire job without lifting or jacking up the vehicle. It was not a problem. 2) The bolts holding the plastic pans on the bottom of the car will likely snap when you try to loosen them, even after soaking with WD-40. I had to use zip ties to re-attach the pans when done. 3) The lower two bolts holding the fan assembly also snapped off while removing them. Thankfully, I had some old bolts on hand that I was able to replace them with. 4) The rubber bushings at the bottom were nearly disintegrated. I wish I'd purchased some new ones ahead of time, but I didn't, so I had to make do with reusing the old ones . Other than that, it was a pretty straightforward process. But, if your car is as old as mine, be prepared to have extra bolts and rubber bushings on hand, because the old ones may very well have deteriorated.

Something that none of the videos mention is the AC condenser that comes off with 4 10mm bolts on the left and right sides of the radiator. If those bolts don't want to come off, take off the 8 mm bolts from the sides of the radiatoe. The ones that face towards the front of the car.

You didn’t talk about a few fuckin bolts I need tutoring on that should be the same exact thing on your car considering I’m 1999. It’s a whole 2 -3 more things to take apart I’m wondering wtf u doin

How much transmission fluid would be lost if the two transmission fluid hoses were not plugged after disconnecting?

Probably 2oz I think. Not a lot. Just top it off after if you feel it’s low

You can clamp the transmission line or let it drip out, there’s not a lot of fluids that comes out, it’s whatever is in the line only.

I only use the petcock if I'm doing a coolant change. If I have to replace a radiator, I remove the radiator cap and dump the coolant all at once from the lower radiator hose

Thanks for the series of videos on the 98 corolla! If I can ask you a question about this car, do you know where the oil pressure sending unit (or switch) is? The low oil pressure indicator on my car flickers erratically, so I am guessing it has gone bad. Only problem is I don't know where it is :)

thanks alot, changed mine with ease........only other thing i did was remove battery and take the 2 10mm bolts to the overflow off and took out the overflow and poured it out too.

Transmission fluid vent out when you disconnect the hose from radiator, did you add more fluid? How match?

it wasn't enough to make us add more fluids, but if you want, you can recheck your transmission fluid and top off as needed.
