My family are die hard Toyota people, but that's because my dad had a Daihatsu Charade and put 400,000 miles on it before he finally got rid of it. I have so many childhood memories in that tiny little red hatchback. I still see some around so you should definitely do a review on one in the States.

So? I had one of these. When I was 18 I lived with my aunt and uncle in Vladivostok (ma went to complex treatment to Israel for half a year). So for studies uncle bought me one of these, dark grey colour made in 1997. Only 5yo it was like new with only 20 thousand miles on it, imported by uncle's friend from neighbouring Japan. And was dirt I mean DIRT cheap. And never broke. It is suuuuper reliable. For three years I made only a few visits to service and that's it. To this day it still drives, third car in my uncle's family. I was very surprised anyone would ever make a review for car I had. And now I'm crying out of nostalgia.

The photo at 6:39 is excellent for a lot of technical reasons as well as aesthetic reasons. The simple explanation is that it utilizes dynamic symmetry with a circular through-line... amazing and well done. More importantly, it tells a story and captures the individuality of the people in the frame; great work!

Daihatsus are pretty fun to drive, in quite an essence. Small, zippy, basic - pretty much everything you want as a parent if you wanna hand down a car to your kid who just passed their DMV test. I drive one of these (stock version, with the MY being '97) and can give you this solid verdict: Its quite an exercise in itself to drive these and if stuck in traffic, then you can't help but remain anxious as hell until the situation clears and you find a gas station in your route.

My friend has one of these and dude, they're awesome. And they can be quite comfy on long trips. We drove around 500 miles from Berlin, Germany to the Netherlands and 500 miles back to Berlin on one weekend and we were totally fine. And it's nice to have here in Berlin so you can park anywhere you want, do sharp turns at higher speed than the others around you slipping through the traffic and it makes so much fun. And you can drive it at 4 liters per 100 km without any problems which equals around 56 mpg

"You use all the power, all the time". That's pretty much how I felt when I borrowed a 68hp Peugeot 107 (same as Toyota Aygo/Citroën C1), while my 160hp Peugeot 406 was in the shop. Dropping 92hp and 650kg, while gaining a peppy little 3-cylinder 7000 RPM firecracker is stupidly good fun. Full throttle all the time, everywhere, screeching tires like a madman.... Going 60kph :-P

THIS car made my childhood funny on Granturismo with the Alto Works too, so small and stupid yet so fun to see racing on the track at low speeds while crashing into other k cars just to get that 1st position

In malaysia, we have perodua kancil, a rebadge daihatsu mira l2. Many of their owner swapped to the jdm engine , 3 cylinder or 4 cylinder. In drag race, there is a "below 1000cc" category. And some one that active with the drag race has already achieve 300hp with his little 660 cc turbocharge. I can give you link if you want. But , that article is in malay language

It's pronounced Coo-aw-reh. Here's a simple trick to read ANY Italian word correctly, just read it how it is written. It's pronounced Coo aw reh because it says Cuore and not kewori

My mom is from Piedmonte & she says it more like kwa reh, 2 syllables.

Fun fact: early Daihatsu Cuores are available to drive with B1 driving license. Which is restricted by both power and weight. It is interesting because B1 is available from 16 years old.

You should have driven more EU cars instead of these JDM shitboxes. Could have driven a Seat, Skoda, Fiat Multipla (very weird), older EU cars..
