Bro i got a new air compressor and new air bags but I dont see the solenoid blowing any air is it supposed to or what ? Do they go bad is it common? another question for this coil swap would I need shocks or you just did the coil?

It could be an issue with the solenoid or height sensor. I did not do the shocks on mine at the time of the swap, but did them later (I had a broken front shock and did them all when it was replaced). Here is the video for the shocks. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jGarpHSfbdioqLs

Thank you for the information. I'm getting ready to try doing this for my elderly mother on her 97 expedition. The airbag on the right is deflated and I think it's what making the right tire grab and lag repeatedly while we are driving it. I am going to have an auto shop put it up on a rack just to diagnose what the issue is for sure. Another thing I read is you should turn off the switch for the air compressor if you are going to do this. Will any of the sensors malfunction if you replace the rear wheel air suspension with regular shocks?

I tiewrapped the sensor in the ride position to keep the compressor from coming on and simply removed the suspension light from the cluster. The springs came with directions on how to modify the wiring harness, but I didn't do that in case I ever want to go back to air suspension.

You say that is for two-wheel drive rear-wheel drive my 98 Eddie Bauer is four-wheel drive is it the same? Thank you foryour response I have to finish this before the end of the weekend I didn't want to buy the springs just in case they don't fit

Four wheel drive might be a different part, but should be a similar process for the rearend.

If you do the rear do you have to do the front or you can run coil in the back and the original in the front

Mine only had air on the rear, so I cannot say for sure. I would think both would need to be done.

If yours is 4WD and all corners have air suspension you should convert them all at the same time... mine also is 2wd so I only need to convert only the rear bags to the coils... the system is driving me crazy already....
