Clear explanations that define all technical terms. Your segment regarding how to differentiate inner versus outer tie rod end failure was the simplest and most effective I've seen, and I've viewed literally thousands of auto repair videos. Outstanding tutorial. I am a 59 year old grandma and want to make myself knowledgeable about this rumbling noise coming from my front left wheel of my VW Jetta. This tutorial was extremely helpful. Now, once I get this "rumbling" noise investigated by the shop I will have a good idea what the mechanic is talking about and am able to make an educated decission.

For me being more of a do it myself this helped a lot cost me 35$ to get a shop to re press and inspect bushings on my lower control arms witch saved me the 487$ buying new ones but also saved me more by being able to check things myself and keeping things moderately cheaper but with quality parts I appreciate your videos because you give more details great views of the suspected issues thank you

I'm having troule with clunking noise driving over speed bumps ( slow or fast) and small depressions too. I brought it back to my dealer twice in the same day(wasn't fixed the 1st time) and still isn't fixed. Your video tutoriel explained alot about the suspenion system and how it works. Best explanation ever!!! I could listen to you all day. I find changing light bulbs complicated but you make everything you say so straight forward. This time I have a list of possible problems to ask the mecanic. Thanks a $1,000,000.

Really well done. You explain things thoroughly without getting needlessly technical or by adding irrelevant anecdotal information. My '07 Jeep Commander has a horrible slap rattle every time I go over even a small bump. I know the sway bar bushings need to be replaced - now I have some other things I can test that may be related. Thanks!

@@BudgetMechanicHawaii Great video. I have an Issue on VW Tiguan 2012 and I changed numerous parts, unresolved jet. The car is good and suspension is tight, nothing can be heared when going over speed bumps and similar things, however the rattle comes from front left side only when going faster over poorly patched parts of asphalt or when driving on gravel - stone roads, and only if steering wheel is strait. As soon as steering is moved by half inch to the let or to the right, the noise goes away. The noise comes from the same front left side even if right wheel is going over small bumps at little faster speed and left wheel goes over smooth road. I went to authorized VW dealer they replaced rear aluminum silencer blocks on front wheels, left shock absorber, and left stabiliser, and I had my mechanic removed whole rack and pinion and send it to rebulding shop, then built it back in and did wheel alighment, the noise is still there. DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER IDEA! Thanks in advance, Damir from Bosnia, Europe.

I’m afraid I wouldn’t be able to venture a guess without being there in person. Another option to explore is looseness in the steering wheel shaft or intermediate shaft. On many cars there are plastic or rubber bushings that wear and allow it to vibrate

Just replaced my springs with TRD springs. Now I have a clunking over bumps. This video is helping my diagnose the noise. New end links, so I know those are good. I'm leaning to either the strut mounts or possibly the springs aren't seated correctly. Thanks for sharing!
