Most likely a stuck float. I like to use a q-tip in a drill with some carb cleaner inside the needle tube down to the seat and then Chase that with some polishing compound. It frees up the needle “tube” nicely and allows the needle to slide (open-close) nice and smooth. Just food for thought…..also could have tapped on carbs to see if leak stopped. I’m sure you have figured it out by now. Will wait for next video.

I miss my old 87' Honda hurricane. That was one of the best bike I ever owned besides my Yamaha rd400...talk about 2 of the best bikes. The Hurricane was comfortable but fast and the other was a sleeper. The RD was a track bike I turned back into a street bike.. that thing would get up to 130mph faster than any other bike I've ever ridden. Would wheelie in all gears...but you didn't know WHEN it would wheelie lol. Man oh man do I miss 2 strokes

Love the daily video’s and camera girl pointing out all you faults😂😂😂 also love your random thoughts, god knows what made them floats stick but now that its run it will probably have sorted its self out with the vibration of the motor. Keep up the good work.

Pretty good video. They dropped right on there. The gas dripped - so what ? - you knew it wasn't significant and cured it instantly. You sounded disappointed at the end - it was fine. And the bike sounded great ! I call that a win. Remember - the true enemy of good is perfect. Love the one you got ! Love the one you got ! Ask God for happy peace !

honestly it is refreshing to see others have the same mishaps that we all do otherwise it becomes really easy to beat yourself up. Because I have fallen victim to also comparing myself to you and thinking of he always gets it just right the first time-- and look at how perfect his projects go-- he never makes a mistake. So honestly glad to see other comments are saying the same thing-- the mistake washing of youtube mechanics is slightly maddening just like the comments on bigger channels from the arm chair mechanics or AI generated bots causing drama-- always nit picking little things and not offering actual real advice. anyway thanks for the video and hope you don't feel let down by this-- this is exactly what customers need to see as well to know what is taking time on their bike-- otherwise well the bike would just be sitting in their garage and it might never see the light of day again if someone isn't giving it attention.

The reason you pull the slides is because carb cleaner is bad for rubber. On older bikes those diaphragms and carb boots are becoming unobtanium, best to take special care of them in my opinion.

The rubber couplings are petroleum resistant, so putting a very thin layer of general purpose grease on the inside surface will HUGELY reduce teh effort to install them without doing any damage. If you are worried about damage, just up you ante to a light silicone grease. Just remember to keep the grease film thin. Life is too short to struggle.
@JoeTheBlacksmith132 ай бұрын
Great sounding engine!! Bummer about the needle valves but now you can be fairly confident all that was wrong was the carbs. Maybe a stuck oil ring or two from sitting so long causing the smoke?
