I had a similar scenario where all of the relays in the car were clicking when the ignition was turned on. It turned out to be a loose ground connection to the motor wire harness.

!!ONE SOLUTION!! Ok friends, so I had this exact same problem on a 2000 Toyota Avalon in Jan of 2024. I kinda followed Ponyo’s advice but all I did was that I put a flathead screwdriver in the ignition keyhole for a day. When I took it out, it was no longer doing that!😂 So just fyi, the reason it was a longer screwdriver was so that JUST THE TIP 😏 of the screwdriver should go in the ignition. Point is, it solved the issue without any repair!

So was it the ignition?....Mine is making the same noise but my battery is flat so Im currently charging it. Our ignition is a push button so not sure how to diagnose that one.

I had the same thing with my Lexus. I checked the all small amp fuses under the hood and I had to replace 3 smaller fuses. Check all your fuses under the hood first as that made my ticking sound go away and the car starts. Now there is something else wrong, now none of of my interior electronics work. That means no windows, no radio, no brakes, no signal lights OR ANYTHING. So I am about to replace the 140A relay hopefully that will fix the problem.

Loud clicking means that the relay is still good.

I have the same noise on my mustang but it's coming from the fuel relay , I replaced it and it's still making the noise

nah mine was from a janky alarm system. I had it removed, and the clicking went away. @@zl9148

I'm having that exact problem NOW! I was trying to pull off from a friend's house (who's not home) in the rain. Heard this clicking & came straight to KZbin. I found the problem, being my 3U-29. Unplugged it & the clicking stopped. I'll try to unplug the negative cable from the battery. Hopefully I can start my car to get a fuse.

I think is the whole ignition, get a use one on ebay should be cheap around 150 to 100. My car is kinda old so i didn't want to fix it.

@@ponyotran2996 I'm having this same exact issue but on a 99 Lexus RX300... I unplugged multiple relays & it still does that noise.. the car turns over an starts very well so therefore I don't believe its a relay issue... ... so what you're saying is replace the ignition(where you put the key in)?? Igniter Cylinder set lock with transmitter housing +cut key??
