Derek u should do a start up sequence on the dash for every Evo just to make sure the ayc light comes on and then turns off once the car runs as it should. Many bad people just pull the fuse or bulb on them and the ayc light never comes on ever despite having ayc problems.

Hmm 🤔 interesting point about the core support, I’ve briefly went through some “kiyaku” from USS and CAA to look at the criteria for R grading and it seems to use the core support as a reference datum about damage that occurs to panels and members ahead or behind it, but nothing regarding the core support itself.

I miss mine it was the best car i ever owned performance was just intoxicating. I am certain the evo 5 in yellow will be ever more sought after as years go by very rare and the 5 shape is the most aggressive looking of the breed both reasons why i bought mine over other models. To me the 5 in yellow, red or just RS trim will be one the most sought after models after the red 6.5 tommi makkinen.

I love my Evo 5. Live in Northern NSW. Dandelion Yellow. Rare colour and only Evo 3's and 5's had that particular yellow. In the video the yellow comes out wrong for some reason.

i almost bought a evo the in 2015 but the trunk space was such a joke i decided not too but the evo 5 actually has a good trunk i am surprised i love the older evo's a lot more tho kinda regret not buying it i went with the 2015 wrx and that car had no soul like i drove my cousins bug eye and that had soul idk what happen but i now own a jeep Rubicon and just take it on adventures when i can

Big difference with a wrx vs an sti. Not sure why people expect the same or compare them as the same thing when they cost half as much. a wrx is comparable to a lancer ralliart not an evo. Evo is the same price as an sti. Ive owned both evo 6 and gc8 sti's. They are very comparable not much between them at all. Its the evo X and new sti's that are way to heavy and crap cars all around.

@@NotWBT well even then I test drove the 2015 sti and it really felt over weight compared to the old sti that my cousin had plus i could not justify the cost difference for a engine that is to old for its own good also the performance difference for the price was not worth it also i probably saved thousands of dollars on gas with the new engine considering on highways if i wasent being a dick i could get 42mpg avg over 200 to 400 miles i honestly thought my volvo S60 R i had before was a far better car too even tho it was falling apart but i also got board of fast cars and found offroad is more fun

@@Nuttty Ya I'd never buy a new sports car. Way way more fun having one of these for $8k-$16k. Why on Earth anyone would get a new STI or Evo x for $35k+ is beyond me when these are quicker and more agile cars. They absolute suck to daily drive as there 20 year old cars now with zero refinement. Worth the trade off though in my opinion as there just way to much fun.
