good to know that the engine doesn't need to be removed. No other videos really show that.

Thanks for this video. I have been looking for ways to remove my piston without having to remove the whole engine. Your video is well detailed. I wish you have a video where you removed the engine head

How are you keeping the engine supported? Are the 3 remaining mounts enough to keep up the engine?

Can I remove piston 5 on my 2009 accord v6 manual? There's oil in the piston causing misfire. What's the proper way to do this?

Is changing oil 4-5000 miles not good enough? Isn't that what toyota recommends??
@dw28433 жыл бұрын
Asking because you mentioned that in the vid after noticing that it was in bad shape.
@dailymechanic67673 жыл бұрын
I would personally recommend every 2,000 miles for an oil change but that really depends on the type of engine oil your using higher quality oil can last up to 5,000 miles with out harming the engine

You're alive! That is very good. Did you replace the pistons with the upgraded ones? My car is burning MASSIVE amounts of oil. Like 1 quart every 65 miles....
@dailymechanic67674 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late reply,I didn't replace the Piston,s they were within spec I just replaced the Piston rings and honed the cylinder walls so the new Piston rings seal properly, pistons only need to be replaced if damaged or out of spec or if you just want new ones if you're using as a race car I would recommend new pistons,I have videos of the Piston Ring removal and installation on my channel

Old toyota engines were so easy - just drop the oil pan and piston rods are right there. Much more work with newer toyota engines to get to piston rods.

4:20 you say "they were probably doing changes in 4,000-5,000 miles", however that would be just HALF the recommended oil change frequency of 10,000 miles. Why do so many Americans think oil needs changing so often!? Come to Europe we change every 10,000 miles earliest (and that's if we're not busy living life).
