1998 yamaha exciter clicking sound right engine wont start

open the spark plugs, and see if you have water in the cylinders

The bendix got stuck do to rust, the rear of the engine needs to come apart and pull the flywheel to get it out and clean. i got a mechanic to do it for 350 bucks. luckly

Thanks for replying back. Mine was also stuck I ran a jumper wire from the battery to the starter and that freed up the bendix. Starts every time now at the key.

@@travisaubrey1688 I did change the starter and the starter relay even tho it was not bad on the port side. Getting to then bolts were not a problem it did take some persuasion to get it free from the motor

Bad starter, tap the starter with a wrench while someone els turns the key
