Thanks for this video, mine started smelling burnt belt and ten minutes later slipped twice and lock up, weekend before bow season, ended up getting a used sxs, but finally getting around to opening it up to see the butchers bill.

Hello, did you oil any of the parts before putting them in or is that not necessary?

Hi, no it's not necessary to oil anything before installation.

Is there no belt then since it is a wet clutch? Is the engine oil the same oil that lubricates the wet clutch?

There is no belt in the wet clutch and the motor oil is the same.

Is there a trick to getting the black external cover off so you can access everything . Mine is stuck . All bolts are out.

Lightly tap it with a rubber mallet. Its just the gasket stuck, you gotta tap it free. You will need a new gasket or gasket maker. Good luck!

How can you tell when it needs it.

The way I could tell was I was hauling a trailer with a load amd it was slipping.

@@wheelssqueals oh... that's the same one that I bought, but those were too wide for my 98 grizzly. So im wondering where you get those right ones because i've been looking trought the ebay and found nothing.

And also at my nearest yamaha dealership that clutch costs literally 650 euros.

You could also try Muff's Motorsports LLC in Ashaway Rhode Island.. I looked and looked and can't find any wet clutch on Ebay now. I will keep an eye out for you!
