Chris was truly one of the greats. He rode for us a couple of races at his home track(Elloree training center). Before he went to Maryland to start his professional career.

What a hero Chris Antley was at this moment in time. That he loved Charismatic and would risk bodily harm for him was evident right there. Charismatic was a great champion right there too, because he must have broken his leg during the last portion of the race, yet he tried his hardest and still managed to come in third. Great bravery and tenacity on his part. Thank you, Chris Antley, for helping Charismatic to become the daddy you of which you spoke. We give tribute to you. RIP, well done

Christopher Wiley Antley (1966-2000) set two records which, I think, no other jockey has equaled or surpased yet: In 1987 he became the first rider to win nine races in a single day; and in 1989 he won at least one race a day during 64 straight days. Chris Antley was inducted to National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame on August 7th, 2015 in Saratoga Springs, New York. God bless him!

"He wasn't able to give the people what they wanted today." IMO,I say screw the people, screw the Triple Crown. When something like that happens, NOTHING else matters except that horses life. Its awful watching an animal get put down. This jockey is awesome for doing what he did afterwards. Like he said, that horse evidently ran his ass off it wasn't like he gave up in the end. Those horses never do.

Not to speak bad about the dead, but halfway down the stretch you could see Charirmatic broke down. Antley looked and you can see it then he hit with the stick. I know about race horses I have them.

Tamp, EVERY Jockey is winded when they come back from riding a horse. In a way they are athletes. Not easy guiding a 1200 pound animal that can be inpredictable.
