Larry Jones is a class act.I was leaving Delaware park racetrack and passed by Mr Jones as he was leaving the racing secretary 's office as I walked by him he looked right at me and said hello . Thought that was extremely gracious of him most people of his fame and stature wouldn't give you the time of day.Great horseman.

I admire Larry Jones and his wife. He speaks so lovingly about EIGHT BELLES. You know she was (is) loved. I miss her still. I have a picture of her on my desk at work. It was taken the night before the Derby with such beautiful lights in the background. Rest in peace beautiful filly. XO always.

I wish more people would see this and see what an amazing person he is. This is how the racing industry mostly is. People care and love thier horses... RIP eight belles, and god bless you, larry.

This is just superb, I have been researching "steps to training horse" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Menailey Vonaliyah Formula - (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my neighbour got great results with it.

This happens because these babies are too young to run like this. They should not even start training before the age of three.

One Word, LAMINITIS, when a horse breaks a leg and weight is not evenly distibutes this disease of the hoof happens, there is no cure yet, so it is more mercifull to euthanize them than put them through hell, look at the famous Barbaro and what he endured only to be brought down by Laminitis...sigh...so sad.....
@laurenmichelle40076 жыл бұрын
My point exactly better to put em down
@loveisgreat9412 жыл бұрын
he is still training! :)
@rideliveluv15 жыл бұрын
they put her down because she obvious couldnt walk to get into the trailer and they love their horses in the racing buisness they gave Barbaro a chance and if Eight Belles cld have gotten into the trailer she would have had a chance but she wuz suffering so best to have ended tht 4 her

she was a fighter and broke down, wow hated it! but LOVED Big BROWN!

horses have to hold up so much weight. having two broken legs almost makes it impossible and unbearable for the horse to go through. so it is the only humane thing to do unfortunately.
@cindyrissal36284 жыл бұрын
No...its bc they breed them w/ smaller, light bones for speed, & they're riding them & running them at speed b4 they're even 2 years old. Joints aren't closed, bones aren't developed. What would really help is to eliminate all races for horses younger than 4 years...

I'm sorry, i don't know about horses but i have to ask this. Why can't they just give drugs for the pain and then fix it? Why the horse must die? Is it because she won't be able to run at that level again and that's bad buisness? Is it for the recovery cost? Why they kill them?
@laurenmichelle40076 жыл бұрын
Dinos Alexander She’s in pain the pain meds don’t help it she was going to die anyway from laminitis this was the most humane thing to do
@nickynicks2513 жыл бұрын
The pain would have been extreme, painkillers would not have helped fast enough. It would have been cruel and selfish to not help her out of her suffering on the spot
@carolkaler63192 жыл бұрын
A horse MUST have at least 3 legs to stand while allowing the 4th to heal. And even in that scenario it's taking a chance that the 4th leg could be compromised. The decision to euthanize was the best for her unfortunately
