Welp, the LT4 made a friend today. 1999 BMW M Roadster! I'm excited so I had to post. I can't wait to dig in and learn more about this car!

Somehow I knew this was somewhere in Michigan when I first started watching. I grew up in Lake Orion, but we moved to Southern California decades ago. Congrats on the clean find from a fellow M owner (2004 E46 M3 coupe).

Haha, you can just tell by the setting that it's Michigan if you're from here. Thank you. An E46 is definitely on my short list of must have cars. The S54 is a beast.

I never drove a BMW but I'm sure it out handles the vet. Nice car.

Thank you! Believe it or not, according to the numbers the vette will keep more grip in a corner! But... the bmw just feels nimble. It's very hard to say, and I bet it would come down to the tires!

Love these cars and your c4bti bro!

Thank you. They're both a lot of fun, a lot of car for the money.

I agree, I've driven both myself.

Don’t have any vehicle specific knowledge. Not sure if you’ve owned a BMW before. But if not, FCP Euro is a great source for parts. Huge selection of OEM and OE equivalents, good prices. And have lifetime replacement an all parts, including wear parts and fluids, for real not just marketing. And a lot of BMW’s are not any harder to work on than domestics and Japanese. But they get their reputation because they are more finicky when it comes to maintenance and repair of ancillary systems, and the cost for those who take them to the dealership. It is model specific, but some of BMW’s drivetrains are very solid and reliable, it’s all the other systems that need more attention than the Japanese. And for a lot of models there are a bunch of DIY resources on the forums, YT and other sites, that lead step by step through a maintenance or repair procedures.

That's a lot of great info. Thank you. I'll definitely check out FCP Euro.

Dude i have been wanting one of these for a while. And I have a 96 lt4, as do you. This is a sign it is time to scratch my s52 m roadster itch

I think now is the time. I'll do more videos on this car for sure, but they're undervalued in my opinion.

Hey there Matt. I agree the staggered wheels and fender flairs look very cool. My old Mitsubishi Starion had staggered wheels and fender flairs so really the only other cars I saw like that was a Porsche or the M Roadster of that era. The closest I got on the C5 Vette I DD is it has 17" front and 18" rear wheels that are staggered. I posted a reply with a link for an affordable cat back exhaust but it was deleted by YT because of the link to another website. But anyhow just copy/paste this into a Google search engine: bmw m roadster cat back exhaust system There is a used magnaflow set up for about $850. The best deal I see is a brand new system from "Billy Boat" for $1439.04 shipped. So there are some options to change the exhaust set-up on the M roadster. The new set-up might not be too loud at first until the exhaust "breaks in". The aftermarket cat back set up on the C5 wasn't much louder than stock for a few days, but it got louder as I racked up some miles. Hey for fun...just grab a water hose, stick it in the exhaust tip and flood the mufflers with water, I know I know, but it will soak down the glass packs inside and it will get noticeably louder for awhile until it dries out. It will give an idea of how much louder an aftermarket exhaust will be. I did it on the cat back set up on the C5 and it was noticeably louder for a few miles. Do it with the car running if you want. On the C5 the exhaust pipes curving up and over the CV axles are several inches higher than the mufflers so the water really can't make it back to the cats and just pours back out the exhaust tips. Plus the exhaust tips being open don't allow the muffler to completely fill with water. Kooky car mod just for fun.

A Starion or Conquest TSI has been on my search list so so so long. And it is so hard to find a good one. I'm so jealous of that haha.

Dude that's a great tip on the exhaust! I'll try it!

I know it sounds kind of wonky but it works. The exhaust on the C5 was WAY louder...for a few minutes until the fiberglass packing on the inside dried out. I've deliberately done it more than once just for fun.
