Great video. I installed LED lights, low beam, and then found that if the car is off, they will come on, pop up but then will not go back down. If the car is running, all works great. I was leaning towards possibly a battery that was not fully charged before. With car off now, if I turn them off, the low beams go off but they won't go down. Now just push the lever to high beam and they go down. Going to also install high beams so will see how that works. In my case, I only use the car for the track and have never used the headlights but thought the LEDs were cool. I may use them in the beginning and end of the track season when it is dark at the track getting the car out of the trailer but it will be running so should not be a problem. I had a couple times when they worked exactly right with just the low beams after trickle charging the battery over night. I think it is just a very very slight difference in voltage causing the issue as you have figured out. My guess is that it is taking less voltage and the car does not even know they are on, hence, no reason to lower the assembly when turning them off. Anyway, great video and if definitely put me on the right track on this issue. Mine is an 03 Z06 with only 18,000 miles on it. Like new.

Thanks for this info. I just installed LED lights on my 2002. High and low beams. Love the light but was dismayed when they wouldn’t close intermittently. I have a new Optima battery and grounds are good. Your trick of turning on high beams works great. Thanks again

This only works sometimes for me. Seems like the longer I drive, the more likely they are to not go down.

Thank you for this video I was able to put my headlights down on my 2002 C5. And because of your video I figured out that if you just turn on your high beams and turn them off from the high position they will go down. Never would have figured it out without your help Thanks.

YESSSS!! I was so pissed after installing LED's on my 2001 and buckets wouldn't go down. Actually figured I broke something while swapping the bulbs. Thanks dude.

But it not a fix I went and removed the LED bulbs and went and bought the brightest Sylvania bulb you could buy and to be honest they're just as bright as the LEDs in there just as white and I don't have that problem at all back to normal the LED lights are kind of a pain in the ass Sylvania makes a three-stage its a bright white light they make three different ones you buy The brightest ivania bulb and put it in and to be honest they're just as bright and white as the LEDs without the pain. The main reason I went and bought that bright LEDs was because the factory headlight on a Corvette you can't say anything if you're buying LEDs to be cool then I guess that's a choice but if you're buying it because of night vision sucks in a factory headlight you'd be surprised how bright and white the Savannah bulbs are without the hassle and actually I see just as well be even better really than the LEDs

LOL.... Your DIC error codes are all the same as mine on my 2003. My driver side bucket doesn't usually even open until I drive the car for a while. At least you don't have that problem.

My brights are old school. LEDs for dims. Just ic on the brights to drop the lights down.

3 tips that may help a fellow c5 owner. 1).clear all codes throgh dic buttons ( in obd mode , not simply hitting "reset /clear for each driver message. Second, try disconnecting neg terminal of battery after ensuring battery has FULL CHARGE (& I recomend upgrade to OPTIMA BAtt).. (cont)

I replace my head lamps with LED on my 04-C5 and it done the same thing. found if you turn your lights off before turning the car off they should work fine. Mine dose but you have to get use to turning your head lights off before tuning off the car
