Cost me 150 for a trans flush, plus 30$ for the gasket and filter, plus tax, so i end up with about 200$ total, and i really appreciate this video, very detailed! Thank you. Perfect.

@@AFatherToTheFatherlessoh damn RIP Briandd 😢let this be a lesson to y'all be careful when changing that tranny fluid! Edit: I wonder if the s10 made it through that terrible ordeal or if it suffered the same fate 🤔 maybe Brian and his s10- just like a trusty steed were laid to rest together... or maybe the truck was used as a coffin? Hey that's not a bad idea! When I go I'd like to be buried in my old chevy k1500! With a full tank of premium, tuned up and a fresh oil change- mobil 1 of course. Might as well have a new set of tires on her too. I'll take some a/t 10 ply shoes. Oh and my stereo HAS to be 100% working this part is important. A new paint job too for good measure and I reckon those new tires could use some attention, hit those babies up with some wax, make em shine. Gotta look good, no? Then I should be ready to hit the road in the afterlife. Did I just start a new trend?

I changed mine, brand new pan with drain plug (98 yukon 4l60e) Rubber gasket with filter kit leaked. Felpro fiber gasket split at several bolt holes. Even torqued to recommended 9 ft lbs and cant seam to beat the leak or get a gasket to go on without splitting or leaking. Last stop is cork and hope it works

I have the exact same vehicle and followed your tutorial exactly, dirt and all. 3 days later my transmission filter fell out and I lost all gears. After doing much more research I found that Transmission torque converter clutch cannot engage without 125psi of fluid, from transmission pump and if the filter is loose pressure is off, variable and you will have slippage, hesitation, even rpm oscillation above 30mph. If it falls out completely ur stuck. IMPORTANT, TAP FILTER SEAL INTO PLACE COMPLETELY (SOCKET&HAMMER) BEFORE INSERTING FILTER (HAMMER)
@thomasbriansavingmoney
@thomasbriansavingmoney 7 жыл бұрын
actually it takes very little pressure to install it. but you make sure that the old seal is out, or you will double stack it. and it will fall down. im sorry about your situation that stinks.

Your wrong about years and having a shallow pan, i have 2001 and its a deep pan. It also depends on if its 4wheel or heavy duty. Shallow pans are the same level all the way across, deep pans have an area like yours that changes depth you have a deep pan and that filter you got is wrong its for a shallow and yours is deep and the difference isnt only the shaft on the filter. The deeper pan filter is actually thicker.
