you take the tires off then you can lift it easier just a few inches.

Imdoing this. My trucks not worth doing at all at this point but i got a welder i have not used yet so it's good to learn on. My cross over for the carrier bearing is rotted too. I cant find any new one's guess i'll have to try and patch it up. Trucks worse than i thought

East coast driveline sells a solid aluminum one that you cut that out for. Save you a lot of headache

Is there a way to replace the crossmember beam without taking the bed off the truck? Possibly if I put the truck on a lift?

It can be done but its the long complicated way. The bed probably needs support ribs anyway

@@angeljuarez840 I tried and just couldn't do it. The saw would never bite into the metal. I just cut squares out around each end of the tube with a grinder.
